Went here a couple days ago because my car died. Asked the employee for help. Told them I needed to jump my car and keep it running (alternator isn't working) so I can drive down the street. Asked what portable jump starter would work for that. Was told that just jumping it wouldn't keep it running to drive it, that I needed to get a "maintainer". Which was $50 more. A total of $130. So I purchased one with cash. After getting home and realizing what I got wasn't portable and needed to be plugged in an outlet to use, I couldn't use it. The box didn't have a dc cable on it so I assumed it was portable and that the employee gave me accurate information. The box literally says "for engine starting, charging, and rugged use". Brought it back the next day, unused still in box, and was told it was a non returnable item. Even though I wasn't told that the day before, the employee told me there was a sign (the small sign above all the merchandise that I was looking at on the bottom shelf and wasn't easily seen to know it was for that specific merchandise) and that I couldn't even get store credit to get the item that I actually wanted. So, to recap, I took the employees advice on the item I needed to buy, it was inaccurate advice, nobody made sure I was aware it wasn't a returnable item during the transaction or before I left, which you would think they would do since I obviously wasn't sure what I needed, and then was refused my cash I paid with or even store credit so I could get the item I actually needed. They didn't even try to help me or work with me to try and make me a happy customer. Just told me that it wasn't a returnable item and that was it. Goodbye. Thanks so much for all the help guys. So happy I asked for your advice on what I needed. $130 in the garbage.

Do not go by yourself if you’re a women. The old guy has given my mom a problem in the past and now me today. He was incredibly rude when I gave the device back after getting no help telling me I need to say thank you when people give me things that they didn’t have to give to me. As I walked him still saying ignorant things me not saying a word leaving to go get my cousins help and my cousin telling him he needs to respect women because like I said there was also a problem with him being rude to my mother. The worker off telling him that it’s goes both ways that I was supposedly rude when asking for my phone back because I didn’t have my license on me as collateral. Never will I go back again I always make it a point to go to advanced auto parts. They just didn’t have the transmission checker that’s the only reason I had to go here. I will be taking this up with corporate only because I know it’s not just a bad day for him he just a horrible customer service worker that loves disrespecting women.

Went to return a tool I did not use. The store staff pointed to a small sign in the back that said No Return of Tools. I looked up company policy and any tool can be returned within 90days as long as it wasn't used. Went to the waterbury Advanced Auto store and they took my return without question. I won't be buying anything in the future from the Naugatuck store.

Went there today to have the code from my wife's car check engine light explained to me. The employee "Bill" was very helpful and read the message from the reader he plugged into my car.Looks like I just needed a simple gas cap. Problem solved. Thanks ???

Avoid at all costs. The GM Joe has a terrible attitude towards customers. O'Reilly auto down the road has a better selection, better prices, and better management.

Do not recommend. I came here specifically because the website states they will install your newly purchased car battery. Then I got here and they would not install it. The woman I interacted with was not knowledgeable or kind and was not able to answer my questions. She had a very bad attitude and persona. Upon coming to return my old battery core there was a long line. One associate was working the register and the other was just standing there doing nothing staring at us. It wasn't until I was next in line that they finally told me I could set the battery down - something they should have let me do before holding it for 10 minutes. A very disappointing experience. Employees clearly are not knowledgeable or helpful. There are Advanced locations that are good. This is not one of them.

Always helpful in letting me know what size wiper blades I need and also helpful in putting them on for me. They also have deals frequently for windshield washer fluid.

The guys at this branch are beyond nice, helpful and knowledgeable.I like to get everything for my projects at once and from the same places at once; here i could absolutely do that. They have everything i needed and at good prices. You can also save money with their bundles. The competitors also offer bundles but you could never find everything that you can bundle up; not a problem here at Advance Auto PartsOverall a great experience all the time, but especially at the Ruber Ave branch in Naugatuck, CT

I needed a specific wiper blade for my vehicle. And posted right in the window, it states that they replace wiper blades. However; the young woman, and man weren't helpful in knowing which brand my car took. To make matters worse is that the woman was very reluctant to even come outside to get an idea of which blades would even work. Smh why give a job to someone who has no interest in the products being sold. And even less interest in helping customers? I went to NAPA, and the 2 older gentlemen knew of the correct wiper blade. And I was on my way. Smh hey Advanced Auto Parts take my advice hire older, interested employees and bring back true customer service. Thank you

They sold me a glue that did not even last for 5 minutes. Maybe it’s a great place if you have experience about what you’re looking for . Other than that, don’t really appreciate their advice

I ordered headlight bulbs for my SUV from the Advance Auto online store for local pickup. The website stated that they were an "exact fit" for my Jeep Cherokee, when I went to install them they did not fit, I brought them back to the store to exchange them they would not return them or exchange them. The business website stated that those bulbs were an exact fit. It was not my error it was theirs, Very disappointing!

Today after going to 4 different gas stations that didn't have functioning air pumps, I passed by and decided to just buy one before I ended up needing a whole new tire. When I walked in I only saw one employee, he was standing at the counter and didn't bother acknowledging me. Whatever. I found what I needed and went up to the counter. I stood about 4-5 feet back from it waiting patiently for the guy to call me over but he never did. I almost left I had been standing there so long. I could see him visibly avoid looking at me so I finally spoke up and politely asked if I could pay. His response was a snarky "can't you see I'm busy?!" To which another employee, Brian, helped me. Brian was great. Super friendly. Although, he didn't look one bit surprised that his coworker was so rude to a customer. I didn't realize the other Brian was an employee because he was working on the sales floor, so I thought he was a customer. All that needed to be said was "Hey Brian can you ring her up". My husband has spent tens of thousands at Advanced Auto over the last few years, but we will not be back to any location because of how I was treated. Promote Brian. Fire that other pos.
