Amazing store and owner, my truck broke down in the parking lot. Old Lyme hardware had all the tools I needed and also let me barrow power tools to get my truck fixed and back on the road again. I was about 3 hours from home and thanks to them I was able to make it home.

It's so nice having a place in town that typically has everything I need. Recently, a handle/bolt from my light stand failed, and I went to get a new bolt. Turns out the handle threads had also stripped, and I needed this piece for sessions the next day. The person at the counter helped me find what I needed and also re-threaded the handle. I definitely didn't expect that, and it was so very appreciated as I was up and running the same day! Thank you for such great customer service!

I love this place! Stopped in on Memorial Day and bought so much stuff, I had to stop myself from buying more. Jessica is awesome. She helped me out with everything I needed. I highly recommend Old Lyme Hardware. Quality product at fair prices. I give them 10 ⭐️.

Excellent customer service!. While working on my boat I snapped a bolt head off on my alternator and headed to old lyme hardware for the necessary tools and a new bolt.When I explained what had happened, owner Rich took the alternator and immediately started drilling out the old bolt and found me a new one. This was well beyond what I had expected and just shows how deeply this business cares for its customers. I'm sure there are many more stories from other happy customers.Shopping local is so important and you'll never get the type of customer service at one of the big box stores.If they don't have it, it hasn't been invented!.

Fantastic! Richard is not only delightful and fun, but he repaired a lamp for me as I stood there, and charged me pennies for the repair. I brought in another, antique lamp and he has repaired it and replaced a broken part. I will drive way out of my way to return to Old Lyme Hardware any time!

The new owners are wonderful. They just rewired to old lamps for me. Same day (almost same-hour) service. Reasonable charge. Lovely people.

This hardware store is fantastic and is much needed here in Old Lyme! I've been in at least a dozen times now and every time they've had what I needed and saved me a long drive to one of the big box stores. Incredibly friendly family owned business -- always a pleasure! BTW: the store is under new ownership (within about the last year if I recall right) and it has much more inventory then in years past.

Wow after 3 local hardware searches I resorted to Weber on line for my part they were back ordered.I was in the Big Y plaza and noticed the Old Lyme Hardware up and busy.The manager took apart a new Weber grill to sell the part to me in time for Labor Day. Their warehouse is huge and he will have what he needs from theirWarehouse.Great customer servicereasonable pricesthe store is stocked.Thank you OLH for being my go to spot from now on.

Exactly what Old Lyme needed -- a well-stocked hardware store! There's a new family that owns this business and it has far more inventory than it did a couple years back. The staff is always incredibly helpful and so far they've always had everything I've needed. Prices are very reasonable and it's great to be able to pick up what I need locally.

Have you ever been to the new old lyme hardware? It’s awesome, they have everything!! A lot more vs other typical hardware stores. The people that work here are great, always has a smile and welcoming you at the door, helpful no matter what your needs are. Feels so great to shop here and give back to your community vs the other box stores! I’ll be coming back for sure :)

Shout out to Old Lyme Hardware, they came to my rescue last week when a screw came undone on my bicycle and fell off during a ride. Luckily I was not far from them when I realized that it completely fell out. Without hesitation the owner took in my bike and found a match of the missing screw and fixed the fender! Thank you!

Ignore the previous low ratings. I've been in a few times now since the change in ownership (and name), and the difference is night and day. The shelves are really well stocked, and they've clearly made a point of stocking quality items (as well as local items wherever possible for a hardware store, e.g. picked up a bag of compost from a local farm). Also, because they have a large footprint for a local hardware store, they have an impressive variety of items, which means you'll only have to resort to the big box stores on rare occasions.
