The new slime lab in the larger room was perfect for our larger party and the slime lab staff was so fun and attentive. “I am always thrilled when I have the opportunity to shoot at the New Haven Lawn Club! As a wedding photographer, this venue truly sparks creativity. The beautiful grounds offer a variety of stunning backdrops, perfect for capturing every moment throughout the day. Whether it’s the lush outdoor areas or the elegant indoor spaces, there’s no shortage of incredible locations for portraits and candid shots.
The wedding suites are absolutely gorgeous, providing the perfect space for the couple to relax and prepare. The venue’s historic charm adds a unique character that’s truly special, an old-world feel combined with modern amenities making it a standout location in Connecticut.
What really sets the New Haven Lawn Club apart, though, is the attention to detail and exceptional service. From the first look to cocktail hour, the staff is incredibly attentive and ensures everything runs smoothly. They not only take care of the couple but also make sure vendors (like myself) have everything we need to make the day perfect. This allows couples to fully immerse themselves in the moments without any stress.
The ballroom is absolutely breathtaking. With its grand chandeliers and spacious layout, it’s perfect for both intimate and large celebrations. When adorned with candles and flowers, the room transforms into an unforgettable setting. It’s truly one of the hidden gems of Connecticut!

“We had our wedding at NHCC in July 2025 and it was exceptional. The facilities and grounds were perfect for what we needed and envisioned, and Karissa was the person who brought the day together for us. She was extremely responsive, kind, and detail-oriented throughout the entire planning process. The setup and breakdown of our vendors (e.g., chairs, florals, etc.) was something I didn't need to worry about after coordinating the details beforehand. Everyone on-site just really took care of everything and made a stressful day truly stress-free. On the day of, the waitstaff/bar staff/etc. were extremely efficient and everyone had a smile on their faces. It was noticeable, and it made for a fun, energetic, and organized vibe. The grounds are immaculate and our wedding was truly beautiful. The patio for cocktail hour couldn't have been better. The dining space came together beautifully and they followed our vision for the setup and decor. We had a band for the reception, and the large room was the perfect party space. It could not have been a better night and we will recommend NHCC to anyone who is looking for excellent service for their important event. Thank you!!!”

“This is More than a dance studio! Its a community center for the arts. They offer a wide variety of culturally focused dance classes. Even their fitness instruction is routed around dance and culture. The studio has a community family feel. They don't just dance but also create a safe place for kids, and women to grow artistically and personally. There is a strong focus on community, supports, positive socialization, and self care. This is more than a place to learn to dance, this a community. Never any pressure to perform. Non competitive approach to dance and art.”

Aside from the delicious food served, the staff at the Club were very friendly, attentive and courteous. We cannot say enough about how attentive the staff were. Milford is lucky to have a great entertainment resource in their community. Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable!”
“We had our wedding reception at the Elm City Club in mid-June. From start to finish across the board, we could not have had a better experience. Sandra was at once down-to-earth, matter-of-fact, and exceedingly personable when we had our first meeting. She was clearly paying close attention to the kind of wedding we wanted and guided us through each aspect of the planning process. The tasting for our meal selections made us feel like special guests at a fine dining restaurant, and the bartender went above and beyond to create a specialty British cocktail that we’d mentioned.
The day of could not have been more perfect. Elm City took care of every aspect of the reception—flowers, candles, food, drinks, everything—and it was all better than we could have hoped for. I think almost every one of our guests said it was the best wedding food they’d ever had (the dessert table deserves a special mention among special things), and were quite frankly staggered that Elm City had done all the table arrangements as well. The Club also ensured that my sister and her husband could stay at the venue so as to be close to their six-month old. Finally, we can’t begin to say how much we appreciated the care given to us by the staff on the night. The bartender is a virtuoso—she ran a bar for 70+ people on her own and no one waited more than a minute for a drink. The waitstaff were so joyous that they added to our enjoyment of the evening. And Sandra was there the whole time making sure that everything went as smoothly as possible. To top it all off, the whole thing was well within our budget.
In all, if you’re reading this review to try and find a wedding reception venue, we cannot recommend the Elm City Club highly enough. They made our day perfect, and we will be forever grateful.”

“The Schwarzman Center at Yale is a recent repurposing of two legacy buildings at the heart of campus: the Commons Dining Hall and Memorial Hall, easily recognizable thanks to its dome. It expands the two spaces so that they serve as a student center of sorts, with the goal of bringing community members together over dining, meeting spaces, and the arts.Besides the Commons and Memorial Hall, new spaces and venues include a convenience store, a dance studio, a 21+ pub, function facilities, performance spaces, public art galleries, and study nooks. When I ventured inside to grab a drink on a sunny, warm day spent exploring campus, I found the space vibrant and well-trafficked, particularly in newer eateries with communal seating. The Commons itself, however, appeared to be a grab-and-go affair either due to ongoing Covid measures or due to renovation.Given that it was a nice day, however, students were more likely to head outside than linger indoors.”

“This is a great venue for a small to medium size event. We had an event there and we were a medium size group of about 154 and I will say that we were almost on top of one another. It was a tight fit. This without dancing space. So keep that in mind.
Clean, great kitchen and bar space. Limited parking space, most guests parked in the street.”

“Of all places, my kids love coming here to bounce in the indoor inflatable park, ride in the bumper cars and play a few of their favorite arcade games. Staff always keeps every part of this facility clean and in great shape. If you’re passing through and need to have the kids let out some energy, this place is the best!”
“My buddy and I played today and were pleasantly surprised. Night and day from a couple years ago. Not only was the course in great shape (better than some expensive courses recently) but the staff was super nice and welcoming. Obviously still updating and in the middle of construction but you can tell it’s moving in the right direction. We’ll be back!”
