βFamily dollar can go both ways but lately itβs pretty good with ya I y what is needed and not being to crazy looking. There is a new person working there and I can say he alway great people coming in and is a pleasure even when checking out.β
βHad to make sure I posted that the store manager, Jessica, was so kind and helpful...she was right there to help me load up my car with several very large items. She went above and beyond to make sure I was able to get all my things in just one trip.
Really provided great customer service and the staff there are always so friendly too.β

βT.J. Maxx, Meriden, CT store #1370. I have been shopping in this store for over 7 years and I have to say that I'm very happy to see that the store has new merchandise every time I visit but merchandise is not the only reason why I shop there. With my busy schedule I have been putting it off to write this review but I finaly have few minutes and have to say that the store manager Jonathan Johnson (JJ) deserves to be praised for his wonderful managerial skills. Jonathan helped me on a couple of occasions and he was very kind, listened, showed emphaty and apologized and took control of the situation that at the end it was all good. The second time he has helped me with an online return because it required an exception. Jonathan has real genuine customer service approach, stays calm and listens to you and is always polite. I have to add that I worked as a bank manager for many years and I know what good customer service is when I see one. Good manager such as Jonathan will lead his team always in the right direction.β
βThe store is very clean and organized. All of the employees are helpful and say hello with a smile. Clean and organized with a good selection of items and employees who are friendly and kind gets five stars from me.β

My girlfriend and I went to ocean state yesterday to pick up a gazebo from the service desk (right when you walk in the register to the right) there was a VERY helpful gentleman named Mario or Jesus (we couldnβt read his nametag) he IMMEDIATELY went to get our order from the back. So very very helpful and nice.
As we are waitingβ¦this woman ( she was a Spanish woman I think she was a manager) comes over, walks right by my girlfriend and I without saying a word or asking if we are all set. She starts looking for our cashier who was getting our order ready, she then proceeds to yell at the other cashiers looking for Mario/Jesus. Finally after like 2 min of her yelling I made it VERY clear he was helping us and if she just asked where he was (politely) we could have let her know. It was so uncalled for. Mario/Jesus comes back and is so super pleasant and helps with the rest of the order. HE should be manager. Not that other lady. She was not very acclimated to customer service.β
βI only stood outside of the place waiting for my family to come from inside shopping what I see outside is a clean decent nice area and store very good items insideβ

βNice place. Nice selection and variety of products. I like the fact itβs bigger and that they have a bathroom and water fountain. Most Five Belowβs Iβve been into donβt have those. So that was really convenient. Very nice five below. Will totally be back.β
βI go here all the time, and I have to say, the manager is just a genuinely, friendly and very cool guy. I know it's a chain store, but he makes it feel like a small corner place. I go here because everything is a great price, and everything is easy to find, decent quality, and typically a good brand. Example: today there was an older man, he was struggling to move, had a cane, etc. This manager helped him to his car, did everything he could to help the guy. No reason, no extra benefit, just being a good guy.β
βI had the BEST experience at DG on 03/02/25. I regret not getting the employeesβ names, but I was helped by the two kindest employees when purchasing balloons. They were super accommodating and pleasant:β
βI love this place so much I almost want to gate keep. Absolutely love the treasures you find here! I just wish at a certain point they would get rid of the items that haven't sold in months. However you will not walk out empty handed. This store has something for everyone! The clothing deals are AMAZING, there's tools, food, toys and so much more! Make sure you sign up for rewards at the register to earn points for a $10 reward!β
βThe layout of the store is very welcoming and organized upon arrival. You can clearly see what you are looking for in each isle. The shelves are nicely lined and well stocked. It was a pleasure experience.β
βbecame much better than earlier this year. no more sharp needles in clothings, place is def cleaner even though variety became smaller. lots of reasonably priced brands you can buy for fraction of the retail price. The non-clothing section is also great.β
βPleasant prices, a lot of trinkets for the home, there is a lot to choose from. Strangely, once they didn't let me in with my backpack, I had to leave it at the cash desk.β

βNo longer a dollar but you can still get some great deals. You'll come out with a basket full and it won't break you. Search the isles you'll find all kinds of little treasuresβ
βThis place has gotten substantially better. Staff is helpful and friendly. It has also stepped up in cleaning the store. Still a bit cluttered, but it is way better than a few months ago. Went on a Sunday, and even though there was a good number of customers, the checkout was very quick because they added people as soon as they were able.β
βI been to different dollar generals in the New Haven area but this one is great it's clean and organized and the workers are all polite and helpful. Great job guysβ
βDecent place. Not a lot of variety but not terrible. Wouldnβt recommend chargers from there. Too expensive for very low quality chargers that can ruin your phone. Never had a problem with the staff that I could remember.β
βThis place is still on the brand new side and their first day of opening was on 5/29/25, decided to check it out and it was very well organized. The staff were really nice, friendly, and also very helpful by greeting everyone that has walked in as a first time. Iβll be back because it really feels like close to home for me and if I need a supply for crafts which I know they have a low temperature heated glue gun. I would highly recommend more people to check out this place and for the record it deserves a 5 star review.β
βTypical dollar tree some are nice and clean and some are a hot mess, this location was busy when we arrived. I always felt bad getting cards from here for cheap, but I realized who's really checking how much you spent on a card. ?β
βThey never have the sale items in inventory!!!!! Never give rain checks for the sale items and the place is very disorganized!! They take what is on sale from one holiday to the next. If rain check is given. Itβs verbal and never given as promised. Disorganized organization Good luck !!β
βThere is some good employees working there and the store always has good deals on items and lots of coupons daily added new to the app. I love this store. Also another plus is the store is normally stocked and clean unlike some of the other stores in the area.β
