Very nice. Great people...except I needed 2 bottles of a specific bourbon for a Christmas party and they had a 1 bottle max per customer. I spent $700 there that day and could only get 1 bottle of that specific $30 bourbon?????. I had to go to another liquor store 2 blocks down to buy the second bottle (ended up buying 6 bottles of what bev max would only sell me 1 of for 2$ more per bottle...didn't make sense.

Great liquor store in town if you're looking for a wide selection of beer. Not quite your typical local liquor store (too big, it's a chain) but good place to go if your local liquor store doesn't have what you're looking for. Service is friendly, too.

During my recent visit to BevMax in Stratford, CT, I had an unfortunate encounter with a cashier that left a bitter taste in my mouth. While I generally enjoy shopping at this location for their wide selection of beverages, the behavior of one particular cashier was far from satisfactory.Upon approaching the checkout counter, the cashier first does not say anything just looks at me confused that I didn't see their sign on the cluttered counter that says anyone under 30 needs to provide ID. I provide my ID and everything is fine. Then after the check out process, I politely asked the cashier if they had any boxes available. Instead of responding in a helpful and friendly manner, the cashier responded with a rude and sarcastic remark that caught me off guard. The exact words were something along the lines of, "Obviously, we have boxes look around." This type of response was completely uncalled for and created an unwelcoming environment for customers. I was unsure if these boxes were available customers as they were stacked high and looked as if they were in a restricted area behind the cashier register. As someone who values customer service, I found this interaction to be highly disappointing. Customers should feel comfortable and respected while shopping, and unfortunately, this particular cashier failed to provide that experience. A simple request for a box should have been met with a polite and helpful response, rather than a condescending remark.Despite this unpleasant encounter, I would still recommend BevMax for its extensive selection of beverages. However, I would advise the management to address the issue of customer service with their staff, particularly the specific cashier who exhibited such rude behavior. This one bad apple did not spoil the rest as another employee had asked if I needed help finding anything. I appreciate his gesture and welcoming attitude.

Very good selection. Staff not knowledgeable or very friendly. Blonde woman who works there is literally one of the most unfriendliest people - never says hello, doesn't acknowledge you, doesn't wish you a good day after your purchase. DOES NOT belong in customer service.

Horrible first impression. I ordered Saturday afternoon since it said 2 hour delivery. Waited, than the store closed but processed my order with a delivery time on Sunday. The time didn't work for me. It allows you to change delivery times. So I did. They never showed up! Plus they changed my order so it appeared as if I never completed it. Lesson learned to screen shot these things.

It's quaint and carries quite a bit considering it's size. Checkout is friendly and quick. I'm not much of a drinker but I use wine for cooking purposes.

a little tight, offers a very broad selection of lower priced wines....$9 to $20, reasonably priced choices some really good juice, Staff is polite and friendly, lack any real knowledge of the products. if you know what you want a good place to shop.
