This is a Sunday, no one around. Voicemail for contact full. We had a reservation but the site was not level and we could not level. We moved to another site hoping it was ok. Bathroom by the pool had no towels. Seems pretty basic, have someone on site, make sure bathrooms are supplied.

Excellent campground. Good location and very quiet. No issues with leveling the RV and certainly no problems with the driveway.

This was a difficult campground to get into. The driveway had a very steep incline. No one was there to greet us.......we found our campsite only to discover the camper behind us was literally being worked on......as in loud machinery etc. My heart went out to the poor camper right next to them who wanted to complain to the campground owners, but none to be found. Only one restroom was open.....it was clean but still........there was a pool right off of the restrooms and if you were taking a shower....there would not be a restroom available to others. Campground poorly run, and it was lickity split getting out of there first thing in the morning. I would not want to repeat the experience.

Very nice campground. I was passing through on way to Boston. I travel in a 34 Super C diesel powered motorhome. I paid $65 for a back in site. Sites are nice and big with some sort of hard gravel that they put down. A nice touch is the picnic table on a wooden deck. 50 amp power was good as was water and sewer hook up. Pickle ball and a creek running through it. People were fishing. I did see a tent set up by the creek. They have some transient sites that I stayed in and liked. Easy to find from route 84. You need to follow directions carefully. The only tip I have is that be careful when you get to the check in point. They have a metal stop sign anchored in a bucket of cement. Their sign says pull out of the way and the metal stop sign is position such that I almost scraped the side of our motorhome. They could move sign to left a foot or so. Also, the speed bumps they have in the way in are pretty big.Nearby activities: Great restaurants across the street within walking distance. I ate at Senor Panchos.

Never met office staff. Only via phone call. This campground is rather small and somewhat messy the way the seasonal campers leave things. I was provided a decent campsite but found the site to to seem like an afterthought in relation to other campsites.

**Late post**Campground: Branch Brook CampgroundState ParkCity, State: Thomaston, ConnecticutCheck-in: April 11, 2023Check-out: April 12, 2023Site Number: 7Our Set Up: Class C Motorhome (32 feet) plus TOADWe Liked: It was the only campground open in Connecticut, anywhere near Hartford given the time of year. It had opened a week or two earlier. Easy access to I-84.We Didn't Care For: It wasn't a big deal for our overnight but there seem to be quite a few seasonal RVs and they weren't in the best shape. Made sections of the campground look dumpy. Bathroom had seen better days.Overall Assessment: We never saw anyone working at the office but saw several maintenance workers preparing sites for the upcoming season. Pool and common room were closed (seasonal) but looked decent. Camp roads a wee bit narrow which made backing into spot a little precarious. Would definitely consider for an overnight in the future.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The new owners are horrible! My parents have been long term campers there for years. The new owners took it upon themselves to go on their campsite and take down their American flag and took four pallets worth of fire wood that they had been bought/ chopped down on their own and when I asked the owner she would not acknowledge where the wood went. When requesting a copy of paperwork they even falsely accused my parents of trashing their campsite before winter. My parents and I packed up their site and cleaned it to prepare for winter. My dad sadly got diagnosed with stage three cancer which is why he could not go back this year. But with the new owners we are telling everyone how rude, cold and thieving they are.

Pros:Better wi-fi than most campgrounds. My wife and I both were able to work with mostly no issues, though there were some situations where it would go out. Same with streaming, we could stream a show but it would occasionally have to buffer so it wasn’t great but again, better than most campgrounds.Spaces were decent sized. We were in site 16 and it was on the creek which was a decent view and gave us plenty of space to sit outside and for our dog to have space to roam.Cons:As a disclaimer to this I want to emphasize that we had nothing physically dangerous happen to us nor any real threat of that. However, my wife just felt it important to mention that as a woman she would have felt unsafe camping here alone due to the fact that it was mostly men camping here, one of which did make her feel a bit uncomfortable. So she just felt it was good to warn any potential women who might be camping alone that this may not feel like the safest campground for you.Our site had a “deck” outside which was great but it had some very weak boards that you could have easily fallen through. They did have mats over those spots (as pictured) but it still felt very unsafe to walk on.Other reviews have mentioned that it didn’t seem like the office was ever opened and while we never had a reason to go to the office, it was closed early in the day when we arrived and we never saw anyone who appeared to work for this campground so I can imagine it could have been difficult to get any assistance if you needed it.Overall:Not the worst place you could stay at by any means but definitely not the best. Just a very average campground that’s probably best for if you’re just passing through the area.

Absolutely disappointed. If you stay here a month, they call the tax collector to get your info and tags to then tax you for YEARS after you stayed here. Smells like fish.... seems to laywor up.Edit:I did stay there. Phil was the manager at the time. It was the campground across from black Rock state park. There was a cute marijuana plant growing on the deck above the office where they rent out the front of the house. I will be calling tomorrow.

Had a bad experience with the office while camping- I went in on Monday saying we would have guest and they did not to worry about. Come Thursday I get a call that we are breaking the campground rules and next time the police would be called! What a joke!

These folks are great and so nice! They make sure we are taken care of and the place is well maintained. Unfortunately they don't have laundry during winter season but everything else is great.

A nice clean rustic park. Many sites only 30 amp but not a problem. Being here in October was a bonus. The fall colors are spectacular!

We were only here for one night on our way to visit family, but the staff here were friendly and super accommodating with our last minute reservation and very late arrival. Leashed dogs are welcome, and most of the other campers' dogs were friendly and well behaved. We will definitely be back the next time we are driving through!
