Tuna fish. I had a short list of items from my wife to pickup. Up and down the isles like a lost soul searching for canned tuna fish. The signs hanging from the ceiling over each isle are useless. Did I mention cashews? Haha, forget it. No employees in the isle I can ask. Maybe I should have looked in the cat food section. Do a better job Big Y.

We went here tonight to get the fish & chips, waited at the seafood dept for 5 minutes, lady working didn't even acknowledge us. We went across the street to get dinner at KFC.

Massive produce section, great ready to eat foods, and a lot of variety. They don’t have the best sales compared to other local chain grocery stores but fantastic selection and always clean and easy to shop.

If this wasn't my mother's go to grocery store, I wouldn't shop here for the simple fact that most of its employees have the worst attitude. Produce, seafood, and definitely the deli, need to brush up on their customer service skills.

The place is very clean, well-stocked, and organized, and has a rock solid staff, but you will find better prices at other supermarkets if you are counting your shekels. But tonight - while wearing my Two Tone shirt - and while Bowie's REBEL REBEL was playing - I saw a guy in the freezer section with a FRANKIE SAY RELAX shirt, and it was 1984 again. We exchanged numbers and will meet again for wine coolers and a game or two of Othello.

Sensory wise, big Y is the only grocery store chain I will shop at. The Torrington store is very quiet and safe. Also as far as my experience, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, even when I had a snafu at the register. I will continue to shop here.

Much better lately. Better prices, variety and deals. Comparing to other chain this is the most valuable one if shopping for premium brands. Use the app for value finds.
