Just moved to the area and had heard from locals that this post office has poor customer service — unfortunately, they were right. We made an appointment for passports, but when we arrived, the employee at the desk didn’t greet us, make eye contact, or offer any assistance. She stayed on her phone the entire time and seemed to be waiting for another employee to help us. After being ignored, we were finally told that our appointment had been canceled due to being “short-staffed.” However, we never received any cancellation notice by email, and oddly enough, the employee on her phone was the one not helping anyone. It was a disappointing and unprofessional experience, especially for something as time-sensitive as a passport.

I’m writing this review based solely on Shirell! She is absolutely the BEST! There was an incredibly rude lady when we first walked in. We had a passport appointment for 3 people and I simply asked where to go. She snapped at me to go to the front and said “I’m leaving”. And that, she sure did. With a full line of people waiting to mail packages and 5 passport appointments, the rude lady walked out and left Shirell with it all. Well, she wasn’t needed anyways! Shirell got the line down and handled all of our passports- WITH a smile on her face! Shirell is professional, personable, diligent, and the Trumbull Post Office is so lucky to have her! Thank you, Shirell!

I've used this post office many times over the years and I'm honestly still amazed at how rude the employees are. I usually have everything ready each trip, if not always, and still feel rushed and huffed at. My husband asked a genuine question, as he didn't know how to do one thing, and an older woman acted so rude. Working with the public, I am well aware that some customers can truly just suck but to people who have patiently waited and are being polite?! I do not get it. This being said, I've never had issues with the actual services themselves, just the employees. Only reason as to why it's 2 stars.

The lady who takes the passport pictures is SO RUDE, extremely unprofessional! Was nasty to anyone who asked her a simple question. I was there a few weeks ago for my kids passports. Kept giving excuses to not do her job but I told her I wasn’t leaving since i made the appointment awhile ago. Then all of a sudden the issues disappeared. My mother recently went and she experienced the same person because supposedly she’s the only one who can take the pictures. PLEASE TRAIN SOMEONE ELSE

All I read is horrible reviews but maybe it’s the entitled Trumbullites. My experience at this post office has been phenomenal since day 1. Gabby is outstanding, knows me by first name and takes care of everyone with a smile, calm demeanor and professionalism.

I had a very disappointing experience at this post office recently. I arrived 15 minutes before closing, well within the hours of service, but was treated as if I was an inconvenience. The employee at the counter had her phone in hand, clearly more focused on her personal business than helping customers. When I had a question about the paperwork I was filling out, she was unwilling to assist and seemed intent on rushing me. Her dismissive attitude led to me making mistakes on the form, which only made things more frustrating. If she’s getting paid until closing time, she should be helping customers properly, not trying to push them out the door. This lack of professionalism needs to be addressed.

So rude. It was a dark skin lady that was working on September 24, 2024 around 2pm. I went in and asked if she had the forever stamps and she was very rude. I politely was asking her if I can get a receipt and this is exactly what she said “if you would give me a minute I will and next time you can press on the pin pad” very rudely. But I didn’t know that because I never gone to the post office before.

I have always found these postal workers to be competent and courteous. Sometimes customers are the problem.

OMG. What's the idea of having to give at least one star? Sherelle is the rudest, most obnoxious clerk I ever encountered anywhere—and that's saying something. Gave her an officially stamped note from an excellent employee at the Monroe P.O., asking the Trumbull P.O. to do something for me, which would facilitate my pkg. to be sorted in CT, rather than in MA. This so-called clerk erupted with an emphatic "NO!" at the beginning of every phrase could think to attach it to. Told her I was going to file a formal complaint about her rude behavior, and she declared, as if delighted: "Go ahead, you just want you own way"—gleefully shouting, repeatedly, as I left: "Ha! Ha! Ha!." Have filed a formal complaint with USPS. Let's see who has the last laugh.
(Had to drive 5 miles south to the next P.O. where a lovely young clerk did exactly what the Monroe P.O. asked to have done and more, without the slightest hesitation.) AVOID THE TRUMBULL P.O. AT ALL COSTS, should you want to retain any faith in humanity.

No one at the counter at 8.30am when they were suppose to start. A lady employee came out around 8.45 and apologized and said she starts shift at 9am. Finally they opened counter at 9am. However another lady at the counter had the worst attitude ever inspite of customers waiting for 30mins.Is anyone looking into these reviews and working to fix this problem?

Under staffed, yet better than others in the area. I waited for a solid 5 minutes before an employee showed up to assist. At times, staff here are passive-aggressive, and at other times, they are straight up rude. It's not a happy place. A photo can tell more than any words can.
