“T.J. Maxx, Meriden, CT store #1370. I have been shopping in this store for over 7 years and I have to say that I'm very happy to see that the store has new merchandise every time I visit but merchandise is not the only reason why I shop there. With my busy schedule I have been putting it off to write this review but I finaly have few minutes and have to say that the store manager Jonathan Johnson (JJ) deserves to be praised for his wonderful managerial skills. Jonathan helped me on a couple of occasions and he was very kind, listened, showed emphaty and apologized and took control of the situation that at the end it was all good. The second time he has helped me with an online return because it required an exception. Jonathan has real genuine customer service approach, stays calm and listens to you and is always polite. I have to add that I worked as a bank manager for many years and I know what good customer service is when I see one. Good manager such as Jonathan will lead his team always in the right direction.”
“Recently I went into our local Ocean State Job Lot and was looking for a kitchen dish strainer. I just couldn’t find it, I then noticed an employee and quickly asked him if he could help. I then realized he was already helping someone else and also being paged! However he still offered to help me and said he’d be right with me. I continued to look on my own for a moment and as I did find one strainer he came to find where I was and actually had found the exact product I was looking for! What terrific service! Thank you all staff who helped?Highly recommend this store !”
“The store was ok. I found the items I was looking for... but had to have a price check as many things were not marked. The store had so much clutter, it was hard getting my cart by stuff. Otherwise. I found what I was after and it was ok priced.”

“I went to the Dollar General during the Corona Viruses epidemic.. l was lucky to find toilet paper , lysol wipes and hand sanitizer.. the staff was friendly and helpful. Also they had tape on the floor to assure people were 6ft apart. I will definitely go back”

A huge selection of household goods, some basic clothes and hand bags with excellent prices.Very organized and clean.One Big downsize, which I understand, I feel that I have been watched even followed by employee of this store. People steal so much from stores these days! Still, make me feel very uncomfortable to go to this store.”

“This review is for jose and liz.They are both amazing employees.Very warm, caring individuals, they help anybody that needs it, which is unusual for those type of stores.Jose was in the aisles, he helped me out.So much trying to find product that I needed.He was so kind and so helpful.I can't even express it also liz.Who is one of the cashiers?She was absolutely amazing.She's so loving and caring to her customers.Really an amazing store shawn who is the manager?Does an amazing job with the store?Is always clean?Well, stocked really takes the time out to make sure everything's right very friendly.I can't say enough good things about the crew there.And I hope he takes the time out to recognize him in a meeting or something.Give him some kind of gift for doing a job well done”
“I’ve been to many Dollar Trees in the area. They are usually the same.Close out products and lots of their own brand items.The past 2 years I have noticed that they are selling SOME Holiday decor items comparable to Michaels and Hobby Lobby for a fraction of the cost (usually $1.25 - although in some in some of the posher communities they have small sections called Dollar Tree Plus of which items can cost up to $5).The store in Cheshire is definitely one of the cleaner stores and the cashier there are severely overworked.Each and EVERY time I go there, they only have one cashier with the line 6-15 deep with her going on the overhead speaker between customers saying “Back up” with a pleading and hopeful look on her face.The ladies (sorry boys I have never seen a male at this location…probably accounts for the tidiness of the location) all seem to be very helpful - but as l mentioned the employees who work the register are visibly frustrated.Now that I live in Cheshire, I will probably not be going to the other locations as much…My opinion of the other local stores-Wallingford - 4/5North Haven - 4/5Hamden - 2/5Meriden 2/5”

“Had a great first experience. When I walked in an employee greeted me and gave me the low down on how things work. Bins switch out every hour or so and basically etiquette is don’t touch until the manager gives the go ahead. Everything was 1.79 a pound and I found 4.5 pounds worth of goodies! Surprisingly there weren’t too many people there. It didn’t feel crowded at least.”
