“This is a top three hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Amazing staff, they granted anything we asked for. Great bar and restaurant. Perfect location close to music hall. Valet parking available but also right near multiple garages in walking distance and in the same Block as BAR….the rooms were insanely big and full of every accommodation you can think of. Pots pans, a stove a beautiful stainless steel fridge….just absolutely spacious and incredible one EVERY way. So much so I’m doing a video on my Facebook because I’m that happy with it. Love LOVE this place and will definitely be back.”

“I stay here anytime I'm visiting family in the area. Rooms are spacious and well-maintained. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. I dont eat at the restaurant often but when I have the food has been excellent. And the free morning coffee in the lobby can't be beat.”

“Just a great hotel. Super duper friendly staff. Every single one we encountered. Wow.
They’re just n a great location you can walk to restaurants shops parks campus and the hospital. It was very well priced for us and our trip. Parking was super easy we didn’t realize it but the parking deck across the street was included in our room rate. There’s a large deck with a covered bridge right into the hotel. Rooms are clean, updated, comfortable, not looking worn down. We could not have been happier staying here. Thanks!”
“Just stayed here for two nights during a trip to Yale. The hotel and rooms are clean and comfortable, though the heating seemed to be out to the test in the historic and unrelenting cold, though I was never uncomfortable in my room. I'd stay here again because it's affordable and particularly because the staff, specifically the guy who runs breakfast (maybe is the manager?) was so friendly. Really went out of his way to be kind and accommodating. I really appreciated it and it made a stressful visit a bit less so... so thanks (and thanks for the breakfast potatoes- you were right, they were great!).”
“I stayed here with my family for one night during Easter weekend. The staff was lovely and accommodating to us as we were traveling with a baby.
The only downside I experienced was that the hotel was FULLY booked, this meant that hallways were loud and lobby space was overcrowded at times. Rooms and most of the hotel was a bit outdated but clean”
“This review is only about the hotel and my great experience at the hotel. I am not giving a bad review like other reviewers based on the entire neighborhood. I do agree that the neighborhood is a bit on the undesirable side with all the young thugs, noise at night and the vagrants lounging around in public. This I feel is not the hotels fault and they shouldn't be having their name dragged down because of it. If people have issues then they should be contacting law enforcement.
I stayed here for a couple of nights cause I wanted to check out a few of the free museums and sample some New Haven pizza. I think the hotel itself is in a great location where it is close to all points of interest and the staff here is absolutely wonderful. Kaylee checked me in and she very friendly and helpful. My room on the 11th floor was very clean and spacious with a nice view of the city from my window. My bed was comfortable and their was plenty of hot water. No issues there. The lobby is a bit old fashioned, but to me it was charming.
Self parking is $25 and valet is $30 a day. It is a bit steep, but that is pretty standard nowadays since street parking is pretty hard to find. The garage is a bit dark, but you can get around. The hotel has a fitness center on the 3rd floor and a lovely restaurant/bar on the 19th. In the lobby they also have a small café/gift shop and the ladies behind the counter were super nice.
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and I look forward to staying here again in the future. I wasn't going to let the negativity of other reviewers scare me from staying here...I am a Brooklyn girl with thick skin and I am used to far worse where I live.”
“Very nice motel went here during the 100 degree temps when our semis ac went out and it was a great stay both women I dealt with (evening shift about 8 pm and morning shift 5 am ) were both super friendly and helpful . rooms were above average for the price and bed was really conformable for me which is rare in a motel for me shower had lots of pressure and felt so good after a day of running with no ac (averaging 85 in the truck) would highly recommend north haven hotel”

“Only complaints i have are the rude lady at night behind the desk and the rock hard beds. Besides that it’s affordable/get what ya pay for. However it is convenient with pilot, Wendy’s, Dunkin, crackle barrel all right there and minutes away from Walmart, stop and shop and the mall. They even have some snacks you can purchase at front desk.”

“The main appeal of this place is the location and cost. Our room was clean but some guests must have smoked something in the hallways. This place is adjacent to I95 so it was easy to get on and off the highway. Will most likely stay again in the future.”
“Stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Shelton Connecticut. I travel a lot for work and staying in Connecticut and visit family and friends on Connecticut as well. I have stayed in every hotel in the Shelton area and I can tell you the Hilton Garden Inn by far is the best. It’s the cleanest. The staff is wonderful. I had a disability and they were always there to help me. I never had to worry or be anxious that I would not be able to get my mobility scooter in and out of my car, the hotel is immaculate. The rooms are very nice. The price is extremely reasonable and the staff all the way from the front desk through maintenance the staff and the restaurant the front desk. Everyone is wonderful and very accommodating. It is well worth the money. it is beautiful place to stay and makes you feel like family, especially when you’re traveling alone. You definitely do not feel alone. You feel like you have an army of people to help you and it’s wonderful .”

“Want to check in was told that I could check in between 230 and the person at the desk was very rude and attempted to stab my niece with a pair of scissors we left and she was very rude. She was making prices up. Another person came in and online told him that it was 90,a night and she says 150. And this is when I spoke out so we left anyone out there that thinks about staying at the Motel 6 in Milford on school Street don’t they have very rude staff. They profile people this is what I think.”
“The place are pretty good located.
Looks like they were renovating the room recently but still have a lot of work to do like a big gape under the door and all the cold winde coming thru.
The rooms looks like there are missing something, in a few rooms not mirror y others, not table/chair, others not microwave or fridge or the bathroom shower waster not going.”
“I’ve been here almost a week. It’s a safe place, the room is clean, breakfast is good. Staff are friendly and helpful. I’m from Michigan so I thought everyone was over exaggerating about how cold the pool is - it’s cold, but it’s also very cold outside. Low water pressure in the shower. It’s been ok for a week - no big complaints, no bugs, no noise. I’ve been working remote from the room and it’s been good for that. People respect my privacy. I’d stay here again just because of how safe I feel as a solo woman traveler.”
