“First time going to this Ollie's, and they had SO. MANY. GREAT. DEALS!
Unfortunately, it's about an hour and 15 minute drive from my house to get there, so it's not somewhere I can go often.
I wish there was an Ollie's closer to me”
“We purchased 25 bags of pelletized lime this AM and called ahead to notify them of our plan. When we arrived 2 male staff employees had loaded 25 bags of lime onto a cart and upon our arrival, they loaded the bags into our 2 cars. We greatly appreciate the first responders discount given to my volunteer firefighter husband. Great place to shop !!!!!!”
“Excellent place to buy everything for the home, clothing, the beach, shoes of all kinds, toys, patios, gardening, cleaning, in short, everything and at excellent prices, even food. I recommend it, visit it today. ?”
“This is definitely one of the nicest and cleanest dollar generals I've been to. Nothing blocking the aisles, good variety. I was out this way because of a job I have and will be using this dollar general from now on!”
“Great selection of fall and Halloween merchandise. Everyone working was nice and patient with the people in front of me who were having some issues with coupons, the supervisor/manager was helpful to them and the cashier and still took the time to open another register to help people waiting and he was very personable and friendly.”
“As Dollar Generals go, this one is downright cherry. There are others in the area that lean into the black, but here we have regular convenience store lighting. You can see! You can see it from across the dark parking lot! Speaking of which, parking is plentiful since we're dealing with a big plaza. Inside you have a little bit of everything. They have coolers for cold food, regular groceries, greeting cards, seasonal, paper products, etc. Aisles are okay size, and the store is big enough where you can avoid other shoppers. There are some places admittedly better faced than others - picture frames are discombobulated, but seasonal Halloween looked picture perfect. The cashier was really friendly with the best register "bell" to summon him I've ever seen.”
“Wonderful to be able to stop in & shop for those bits & pieces on my list for only $1.25 each! Can't best that price! 4 stars bc they really need more than 1 cashier when it gets busy. But ppl are patient & cashiers do their best.”
“This discount store has approximately 19,000 stores in the US and Mexico. It is headquartered in Tennessee and founded in 1939 as JL Turner and Son. They had a name change to Dollar General since 1955.
Dollar General sells a wide variety of items such as home decor, clothing, cleaning supplies, and many more. This store in Barkhamstead is very similar like the other stores. It is well stocked and for the most part, organized. What I noticed in most DGs, there are always items waiting to be stocked on the end of aisles.
This one was pretty busy on the day we went because it was the Sunday before Christmas; I assume people were doing last minute shopping like we were doing too. They had many seasonal items and prices were affordable, as their name holds a reputation for that. This is also the first DG that I've seen two cashiers working; I think because there was a long line. Overall, a standard DG with discounted items. It's definitely a popular store and I understand why.”
“This Dollar Tree is located in a plaza next to Ollie's. It's one of the quietest DTs I've been to. The store was well stocked and mostly everything was $1.25; there were some $3 and $5 items as well. The items usually run in a smaller/lower quantity size; dish soap, trash bags, and other various items. You can pretty much find anything you need there. There were some clutter on some of the aisles, unloaded boxes here and there.
I'm a fan of the snacks aisle. They have some unique snacks as well as the common brand names. You can also find refrigerated food items. I think this is a great store to buy gifts at; you can make a nice gift basket using items from the Dollar Tree. I do miss the days when everything was just $1. Overall, a great store if you're trying to save money, especially in this economy.”
