Anacostia Park is a beautiful park with a great view of the river. It is a wonderful place for a Saturday morning parkrun, a stroll, a bike ride, or a drive. There is lots of green space for pets and kids, and for games, frisbee, soccer, or a BBQ. It is very nice for group events and a great place for dogs. The park features a nice paved walking trail with plenty of shade and some inclined bridges. There are toilets, a picnic area, and a playground. Parking is free on weekends.
Anacostia is the Mecca where black families come together and its once of the Districts best parks on the East Side of the River. I love this park now just as I did when I was a kid.

I have not been in this region is many years. It has been revitalized and have made a lovely park. My husband and I took a walk. It was nice to see it. Feels safer now. Lots of things to do. You can walk over the bridge and we got to watch the fireworks over the water. It was lovely.

Beautiful atmosphere, spacious and perfect place to relax. No drama and police patrol regularly!
