About Founding Farmers Fishers & Bakers

Popular with locals and tourists alike, Founding Farmers Fishers & Bakers is located at Georgetown’s lively Washington Harbor on the Potomac River. Open 365 days a year, our culinary crew crafts dishes and drinks from scratch with simple, high-quality ingredients from farmers and suppliers they know and trust. Join us for breakfast, lunch, dinner, weekday happy hour, decadent weekend Farmers Market Buffet Brunch, or simply grab a cup of our house-roasted coffee and breakfast treat from our First Bake Cafe. Majority owned by American family farmers, including the more than 50,000 farmers of the North Dakota Farmers Union, our restaurant is guided by a very simple principal: we see and share everything Through The Eyes Of The Farmer.™

About the restaurant: An entirely restructured interior includes various seating areas, an in-house bakery and a sushi bar, a vast change from the very original Agraria restaurant, the predecessor of the late Farmers & Fishers.Food & Drinks: With this setup, patrons will find themselves puzzling over how to align their preferences --- perhaps opting for seafood as in sushi, or just a good old American-style farm dinner, sort of. Still the offspring of the North Dakota Farmers Union, Farmers Fishers Bakers, despite the menu blurbs, does not really focus on farm-fresh goodies; instead, you'll find such citified dishes as mussels and fries, crispy duck fat chicken wings, seafood salads and pizzas, and an array of sandwiches, tacos and seafood entrées. Vegetarians get their fair share of meatless dishes, too, from polenta with roasted red peppers and eggplant to gardener's pie. Note that for the freshest of breads you must get there when the restaurant opens for breakfast. If you want a bread basket to accompany a meal, you will pay for it. Weekend brunches offer egg- and bread-based items plus some meaty entrées. The restaurant showcases its cocktail and wine selections as well.
