“We held a combo Lunar New Year party and one-year wedding anniversary event at Mess Hall DC for about ~40 people and it was spectacular! Working with Al and his team from start to finish was great. Al is super responsive, helpful, and was committed to helping us realize our vision for this event. He gave me helpful recommendations on vendors (we hired a food truck to cater the event and the served food to order at the fully equipped demo kitchen / prep kitchen set-up in the event space) that he trusted and had used in the past and was on site for our whole entire event. The Mess Hall Team were fantastic all night, especially our super cool bartender that Al helped to secure for the evening for our open bar. I cannot say enough good things about the venue, Al, and his entire team. If you're looking for a unique space for your event in the DC area, then definitely check Mess Hall out!!! All of our guests loved the space and everyone had a fun evening together.”

“I hosted a birthday dinner here, and it’s perfect for large groups. We had 14 people and we got our own little room! The server was very accommodating and split the bill for us no problem. I even forgot my birthday candles for the cake I brought, and they gave me candles to use. Such great customer service and the food was delicious too! Lastly, I’m vegetarian and was able to find something in the menu easily. Highly recommend!”

“Not too welcoming in 2024, I applied there when they first came to the neighborhood . lot of white people, then I figured out why they didn't hire me you but you never know the Pearl and the oyster. I hope they change their practices. Expeditor could manage your time a little better especially when you got gumbo and salad, and then the barbecue comes out cold. It lessens the experience of having to take it home and warm it up. But those biscuits stop me in my tracks.”

“I was here for an event and we walked up to the rooftop. You could see an American flag with the US Capitol building behind it. It's quite a good spot for political-related events. After the speeches and stuff, we took a short walk to the actual building. If you are in DC and can get this spot, I'd go for it.”

“5 stars across the board for this hotel- the room was unbelievable. Completely spotless, and just stunning all over. I was upgraded to the pres suite, the team at the Hyatt really took good care of me.The breakfast was top notch (I’m not even a breakfast person) and they took good care of my vegan cousin as well. Above and beyond with most things. I didn’t get to use the gym or the pool but stopped by it seemed to be decent enough for a good workout.The linens felt crisp and fresh, the pillows the perfect density. Bed was very comfortable.I used my 4 pm check out to take meetings and work from the room. The best part might’ve been the bathroom, honestly. Staff were friendly and truly helpfulAlso location is fantastic, by GW and George Town and walking distance to the Lincoln memorial and the rest of the park”

The history, food, and ambiance were exactly what we were looking for.As the owner, Aki, told us, "You don't want the rehearsal dinner to upstage the wedding."
