“I got two watches from a Bolivian street market in 2020, so they aren’t really expensive but they are special to me because I bought them on an international trip. Anyway, I took these watches in Secrète fine jewelry in DuPont circle because the batteries were out and the links needed adjusting to my wrist. I was greeted warmly and my issues were addressed timely by Ginevra. I thought I needed links removed, but actually my watch has a band that allows it to be adjusted without removing links. She showed me how to do that free of charge. She asked if I was a “collector” and Im like no but I am interested in starting a collection. Ginerva gives me the run down of Hamilton Watches and I think I have a new favorite brand. They are affordable but expensive enough to feel like a big gift to yourself. I have myself a new jeweler. Five stars for Secrète fine jewelry.”

“Love, Love, Love!! This DC location allows you to pick up to 3 loose diamonds you are comparing online, and view them in store via an appointment with their gemologist. I highly recommend this service as I was surprised how diamonds look very different online versus in person. Just take care with what you order because you are going to fall in absolute love with the biggest and the best and the most expensive guaranteed!! They also have bands you can try on in their design center. My channel band was not available in store and they would not bring it into the store so luckily it's exactly what I wanted. My understanding is you have 30 days to return or exchange if you want something different.”

“I started classes after a jeweler I admire recommended studying with Dan to learn metalsmithing with the proper techniques, and I'm so glad I did!
Years later, I've set up my own workshop and do custom projects for clients, but I still study with Dan through the extended program because:
-The shop is so well-equipped and I've never been restricted by the availability of tools/equipment
-I am still learning so much from the class projects he designs, which result in beautiful, wearable pieces that allow students to learn and practice multiple skills and techniques through the process.
-Dan is there to provide solid guidance and help figure out the tougher/unfamiliar parts of my custom projects so I feel confident in delivering good work to clients
-There's an open attitude and general expectation of feedback. Students genuinely want to learn and have high expectations of their own work.
-It's fun and feels great to be in the studio! The students are supportive and fun to be around; everyone has their unique style and focus, and there's a sense of community.

art, jewelry and handcrafted items from various Latin countries. The jewelry on display is really eye-catching and unique. ArtTepuy has so many lovely earrings and bracelets along with colorful cards and decorative items.
I had a chance to meet and chat with the owner, Mariela, who is wonderful and so passionate about showcasing a broad range of art and handmade items from Latin American countries.
It was a joy to explore the boutique, which is so colorful and filled with some very special pieces that would make great gifts.
It’s Hispanic Heritage month, so an especially perfect time to support a small business like ArtTepuy.
Parking is easy in that there is a parking garage under La Cosecha where you can park for free for 3hrs.”

I contacted Mia Gemma and Irene helped me find a beautiful and unique pair of earrings that was just right for their dresses, their taste, and the aesthetic of the wedding. Everyone loved them. Irene was so understanding of my last minute time frame and rushed the order. She arranged for me to pick them up at the nearby home of a Mia Gemma colleague (Lynn) who wrapped them beautifully and even gave me a card and small gift to celebrate our wedding. The earrings were just lovely and Irene and Lynn were so kind and helpful. This was my first time working with Mia Gemma and definitely not my last. Thank you so much!”

“This was my second time visiting The Phoenix. Very cute shop with a unique inventory. I was able to find a cute gift for my brother. I do agree with other reviews, the employees watch you as a hawk, but I just ignore them. The cashier was very nice and even offered to pack the gift, free of charge! I will the wrapping paper would have been Christmas colors instead of a bright yellow. Most items are on the expensive side. Still, I'll be returning... probably for Mother's Day.”
