Lincoln Memorial

Hours: The Lincoln Memorial is a truly spectacular and absolutely massive memorial, considered an absolute must-see and one of the most popular in the city. It is a must-visit for history buffs and anyone intrigued by standing where significant historical events occurred. The site itself is well kept, clean, lovely, spacious, and nice and cool inside. Visitors will see the statue of Abraham Lincoln sitting, a main masterpiece. It is very busy, however, making pictures difficult without others in the frame. For fewer people, a weekday morning is highly recommended. There is a beautiful view of the memorial and the surrounding nature. The memorial is free and looks really nice at night when lit up. Visitors should be prepared for walking, including going up some stairs. As of March 2024, there is construction happening, which can affect photo opportunities. It is a great place with a good view and a touching place to visit, often recognized from famous media scenes. It is a perfect stop while walking the Mall to see other memorials nearby.
