“We love to visit the Arboretum several times a year, as each season offers a different perspective, and each time we come, we stop to check out the bonsai. It’s absolutely mind-blowing to think about how these trees are trained and how old they are. I am good with plants, but this is a whole other level. There are trees older than the United States, and many were gifts from the Japanese government, including one that survived the bombing of Hiroshima.
You must swing through if you are in the park. Come early or come on a weekday if you can. The trees are small, so if you want to spend a moment with each, it's best if there isn’t a crowd.”

“The people that I talked with were polite and efficient. I sent an email and the next day they were on the phone setting up the donation. The tow truck arrived the following day within the time frame I was given. Everything was handled very well.”

“We took a Spanish 2 class to visit the MCI and had the best time! Our guide gave us a step by step tour of the historical building and added plenty of age-appropriate trivia and information. The murals are incredible and the art exhibit upstairs was just amazing. My students loved the greenhouse room and music room the most.”

“Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff! I had a question about my bike and they helped me figure out the issue free of charge.

Brought my bike in later for some maintenence, they did a great job but the turn around was 2 weeks. Which was a little longer than their estimate. But overall a great place!”

“Tucked away in a charming neighborhood, Meridian House feels like a secret garden oasis. The historic mansion itself is a photographer's dream, boasting elegant interiors with rich details that transport you to another era. But the real showstopper is the expansive garden. Lush greenery, meticulously maintained landscaping, and a variety of charming nooks and crannies create a backdrop that's both versatile and breathtaking. My couple and I were spoilt for choice when it came to finding picture-perfect spots!

This engagement session at Meridian House has only solidified my love for this venue. The atmosphere, combined with the professional and friendly staff, makes it an ideal location for any couple seeking an iconic engagement session location. IG @daniellerealphotography”

“It's very welcoming and clean. The boys met other children at "the house" who traveled here for their own medical journeys. They got to bond with other kids. It really does brighten parents up when you see the outlook of our children playing and talking about life. Changes my perspective as a human being.”

“A great organisation that cares. One that helped me see America in a different light.

As someone who has had the privilege of beginning their volunteering journey some 13 years ago and blessed with opportunities along the way to lead programmes, I believe the hallmarks of any decent programme include (1) being client-first and never volunteer-first; (2) conducting a well thought-out orientation where volunteers learn about how the programme came about, its ethos, the guidelines the organisation puts in place to protect its clients; (3) having strict rules and expectations of its volunteers so as to protect clients; and (4) understanding the power of words — not referring to humans as, say, beneficiaries but as guests or clients.

Miriam's ticked all the boxes for me.

I particularly like how volunteer manager Martha Wolf highlighted the power of making sure the homeless have a choice, even if it's something as small as whether you want cranberry juice or orange. Learnt a lot from the volunteer orientation. I love the 6am to 8.30am breakfast session & I am grateful for the privilege of getting to start my day bright and early on such a happy note & getting to chat with people ^_^

Thank you for the opportunities & I hope one day we do end the plague of chronic homelessness because no one is ever less deserving than another of safety, shelter, dignity and love.”

“This building is the home of the esteemed National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine. Members are advisors to government and top scientists in their disciplines. The building is not a public museum. It sits across from the Mall and south of the Department of State. Not really a tourist spot, although there is a wonderful statue of Albert Einstein out front yhat offers a photo opportunity for visitors.”

“We had lunch at the Executive Room for 4 ppl. The room was elegant and quiet. Not too many people at lunch at that time. They had buffet lunch, the food was excellent, but not too much choices with the high price. I love their Hors d'oeuvres, fresh baked bread, cheese, assortment of fruit, etc.”

“I am grateful to have been a part of The Bethany’s Women Center, located on the 1st floor of N Street Village. I was welcomed with open arms by the staff who are professional, compassionate and committed to insuring all women who walk through their front doors, no matter the road they have traveled, are treated with dignity and respect. The program provides case management support, as well; offer a safe haven for women during the day where they can get breakfast and lunch, participate in different activities and group discussions. During select days, toiletries, showers and washing of laundry is accessible, also; healthcare services with their partner provider. I am ever so thankful that this place exists and because of the path that I have traveled and the people that I have encountered to get here, the reward for me has been far greater than I could ever imagine and it’s because of God’s Favor and Mercy and the women of N Street Village - Bethany’s Women Center I have stepped into a new life and residency, Thank you. ??”
