The National Guard Memorial Museum is a small yet excellent and well done museum dedicated to the Army and Air National Guard. It is a free museum. To enter, visitors must push a button or buzz into the building. The museum is located down the stairs and occupies one floor. It tells the story of the Guard from the earliest colonial militias to today, with six galleries. Exhibits include a video about the history, things to read, multimedia, recordings, actual memorabilia, and model displays of uniforms and aircraft. There is also a Medal of Honor Room. The museum provides a wonderful experience and a very interesting balance of visual history, offering a great job of telling the story of the National Guard's service. It is worth a stop and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Second visit during conferences. Only visited the Montgomery Room. But a beautiful interior and design. Embelished with historical artifacts representing the Miliatias of every State. Not sure its open to public

Very convenient location to sleep outside and out of the way on their cement sidewalks on 4 different occasions. Close to Union Station as well. On one occasion their security guard assaulted me by touching me!
