Smash Records is a small but popular record shop known for its diverse and regularly changing vinyl selection. The store offers a strong focus on punk and rock vinyl, with some reviews highlighting its great selection of obscure, rare, and classic albums. Customers appreciate finding a variety of records, including older albums at affordable prices, as well as CDs and even sealed cassettes. The staff is generally friendly and helpful, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere, although some mention that not all employees provide the same level of service. The shop also sells skateboarding items, adding to its unique character. Despite its tiny size, Smash Records is considered an essential part of the city's music scene and a must-visit for collectors seeking rare finds. While some reviews mention a weed smell, this does not detract from its reputation as a great place to discover hidden gems in punk and rock music. Overall, Smash Records is a beloved, history-rich spot with a strong community feel and a treasure trove of vinyl for music fans.
Nice selection for everyone. We've been here multiple times. We stop by here anytime we go to DC. Selections change frequently. Mostly punk/hardcore. But there's selections on everything else. The clothes are cool lookin too.

Went here recently with a friend. Sifted through the used vinyl collection and picked out a few we thought had unique cover art. Staff was super chill and had a listening station set up so we can test them out. Excellent vibes and wide range of music!

Came in looking for Minor Threat self-titled album, paid 17 and some change for it. Very happy! DC Punk ftw.
