The experience I had at the Upshur pool was good, but someone who works there stole my money while I was changing my daughter's clothes in the bathroom. I left my backpack hanging with some wet clothes and a lady who worked there told me that is time to close and after I finished changing my daughter, I left the bathroom and my things were on one of the seats near the locker. So I took my things and left there with my daughter. Yesterday I took out my wallet that I had in my backpack to pay for some things that I chose and in the end I discovered that there was no money at all, my wallet was open, my money was stolen that all that I had, $400 dollars. Please be careful with the valuables you carry with you when you go to that pool. It is not safe to carry money or things of value $$$. I couldn't make any claim because the pool had already closed and it is also closed on Mondays. Be very careful!!!! All this happened on Sunday before six in the afternoon between 5:55 pm.

The pool is clean and the lifeguards pay attention, so overall the pool is great. The changing rooms are gross, so plan accordingly.

Staff (not security) was extremely rude and didn't let us 2 adults in because they didn't have swimwear (they explained they weren't getting in and still didn't let them in)

Chill place to cool off, get some sun, or both. They’re are a large number of lounging chairs on the spacious area around the pool Although they do tend to fill up, they also turnover fairly regularly. Many are in full sun. No diving though.

It's a basic pool and it's free. Therefore, I don't expect luxury locker rooms but the pool seems relatively clean, and there are usually plenty of lounge chairs. My biggest complaint is the sheer volume of whistle blowing. There is one guard that I think swallowed his so every time he breathes you hear it. I'm a single woman, so I don't particularly love rowdy games of Marco Polo, but you gotta let these kids have fun. I once heard him whistle at someone during a break. Nobody was even in the pool. Honestly, if there wasn't multiple whistles per minute, I would be shocked. This guy definitely has a power complex! It's absurd. Also, no adult swim. Every 45 minutes they empty the entire pool for 15 minutes. I was sitting on the edge (my feet weren't even in the water) and I got a whistle blown at me and told to back away from the water.

I tried to bring my kids there to swim (i don’t swim) and have fun, they're all toddlers and not tall enough for the big pool. Then when we came in with like 3 kids right there, one of the guy didn’t let we know that a kid’s pool are close. Too much works to do if you’re not DC resident, you have to sign in online and pay by credit only. Waste time.

While the pool is really nice and the atmosphere, vibe is great, the staff mainly the manager is rude and unreasonable, she was screaming and disrespectful to an older lady that couldn’t swim fast enough to go out of the pool and that wasn’t the only older lady she disrespected during my visit. The lifeguards don’t let people enjoy the pool because they will pick on every little thing. Besides that the pool is really great!

This place has very strict policy and the clothing requirements are garbage. The bathroom is dirty as if they haven't cleaned for 10 years and the pool is very full. The only good thing is that it's free.
