I was scared to come here after seeing previous reviews, but my experience seems to be fine. No long waiting and the service was quick. They definitely need more cleaning but overall it’s not bad.

Post office was closed/locked during business hours 2 days in a row in the afternoon (after normal lunch break)

I thought about giving it one star, but the fact that I was able to accomplish what I went to the post office for I decided to be generous and give it 3 stars. It would be so nice to walk into a post office and have them smile. Not be on their cell phones while stand in line until they finish their personal call/text.
The experience goes something like this.
One of them Yells next!! really no reason to yell you’re standing right in front of them. When you step up, they don’t ask; How can I help you? Instead, they just stare at you and wait for you to tell them what you want. They go about it as if this is the hardest job one could ever have and you should be grateful they are there. You don’t hear another word from them until they tell you how much you owe, and then the last word you hear from them is do you want a receipt?
Never smile. Never thank you. Never have a nice day.

I came to this Post Office location today at 9:30 am and the office was not open, despite that on internet and by door there is a sign saying that hours of service are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. This is unacceptable , such a level of poor service.

I visited this post office a few days ago while abroad here in Washington DC. With the intention of sending a letter, I entered this house, which resembled a dreary prison, only to find a bored and unfriendly employee. When I told her I had to send a letter to Austria, she just replied with annoyance about the costs and put the stamp on the table in a disgruntled manner. Apparently in the USA you can only send letters and packages through mailboxes and the post offices are only used as decoration. Very strange branch that you should avoid.

The website states the office opens at 9 am, but after waiting thirty extra minutes, I left by 9:30 and the office had still not been opened. Several people in line stated this occurs several times a week. Incredibly unprofessional; wasted the time of so many people waiting.

The person working today is wonderful. She is patiently helping someone schedule a passport appointment making suggestions as to the easiest office to reach with public transit as I type this. Five star customer service. Also, this building is beautiful.
