OSJL has been in business for 30 years or more, in New England . “Ocean State” is Rhode Island’s state nickname. It, just this year, moved into DE, taking over the old Big Lots stores in Seaford and Dover.(perhaps more)
OSJL has different items, every month. Because they buy out “lots”, goods that have been written up as” damaged goods” or “losses” from another-business or insurance company. This allows the customer to buy something almost dirt-cheap, with much more value.
My favorite departments are the FOOD section (gourmet food, dried fruit, specialty items) and the SEASONAL section ( bargains on Seasonal fun items).More bang for the buck !!!

First time in an Ocean State Job Lot store. All of the Big Lot locations have become these. We stopped in to see what exactly it was. I was impressed with the large selection of inventory. Their prices are pretty good deals on most items, and they have name brand items. It’s in the similar category as Big Lots and Ollie’s but with more of a variety. The place was well stocked and fairly organized. This location is right on DuPont Highway right in Dover. The store had a good selection of health and beauty products for the skin, and also a lot of clothing. They also had a good variety of pool maintenance supplies.

LOVE THIS STORE! Been waiting for one to come our way. Used to go to the one in NH. Never had a problem with check out. People very friendly and helpful. Well stocked shelves. Brand names are there- just look. Cleaner than Ollie’s will ever be and better organized! If you’re a Karen, please go elsewhere! 😂

This place is Big lots/Ollies basically. Lady at the register didn't greet me or my daughter today. We walked up and she had a cellphone in her hand. Not sure if it was for personal or a store device but she didn't even put it away when we got to the register. We had to wait for her to put it down which took about 6 seconds of us just standing there in silence. Again, still no hello, she just rang up our stuff. My daughter told her to have a nice day and she replied. Next time, I'll ask for a manager. I also don't like how we are herded alongwhen we first enter. There's no other way for you to go in and you have to go the way they want you to. You have to follow the path around... just felt weird/odd

The store is a store that holds multiple things It is not a store of discount what they did in the store to the items is marked down small items and marked up big items to make up the difference of that so-called discount I found that it was a little bit too high I think Ollie's is a little bit more reasonable with their prices and job.

The store is an overall decent - clean and well-organized, but the checkout area is extremely cramped with barely any space between the aisles, register, and exit. It’s an awkward, poorly planned layout in an otherwise great store.

I got a door matt, lemonade, and plastic gloves. These things are useful in the home. The store is close to home, and the associates were friendly, It was a good shopping experience.
