“Dover Community Pharmacy is truly exceptional. From the moment you walk in, you’re treated like family. They know you by name, take the time to listen, and genuinely care about your well-being.
The pharmacist is outstanding — not just knowledgeable in a general sense, but attentive to you as a patient. I have multiple medication allergies, and he has caught potential issues more than once when prescriptions were accidentally written by physicians. That level of awareness and advocacy is priceless.
The entire staff is competent, friendly, and compassionate. You never feel rushed, dismissed, or like just another number. In a healthcare world that can feel impersonal, this pharmacy is a rare gem.
I trust them completely and am incredibly grateful for the care they provide.

“I was 33 weeks pregnant and starting to feel the effects of slow rishing blood pressure. I wasn't feeling right and couldn't find a store with a blood pressure monitor chair so I went into this pharmacy and the pharmacist was so kind. His employee opened a few blood pressure machine and the pharmacist monitored it for me 2 times. He gave me water and shared a personal story about high pressure in pregnancy . He was so kind and compassionate.”

“Israel, Paul and their family tun this pharmacy. They give the old world feel of a smoothly run family shop. You will NOT feel like a number or like your just another patient. Israel always takes the time to explain anything new to me and answers all questions that i may may have about the meds and other medical concerns i may have. I find the staff to be very kind, knowledgeable and empathetic to the needs of the community. I am reviewing this shop personally because this has been my “ goto pharmacist “ for over nine years. When big corporate owned company’s have come into kent county and those big stores had issues with high prices, lost scripts& even medicinal shortages this pharmacist made sure that his regulars never and i mean ever when without. In addition if by chance( once in my ten years when i first transitioned back to Rodney village pharmacy(Dover,De)from Walgreens, i had ti wait ti get a script until the next day due to out of stock medication. The pharmacist actually had that script delivered as soon as it arrived at the store. I believe this is hands down THE best place for medicines and any medical questions a person could have!”
“They were very quick to get my prescriptions ready. Only had to pay $4 and some change for my prescriptions so it was very affordable. Gift shop was also a nice addition to browse around. Some high prices for the gift shop part but the products looked like high quality so kinda worth it. Got a cute little emotional support dog (figurine) so yay! :)”

“Top notch service from this pharmacy! We travel fulltime in our RV and needed to get a prescription filled. After trying to work with CVS and getting nowhere I tried Safeway Pharmacy. What a difference. Very friendly and helpful staff made sure we got the prescription filled and took my Good RX coupon!”

It truly reminded me of an older private owned pharmacy rather than a typical Walgreens corporation store. This was more intimate and customer friendly environment.”

“Went on my lunch break so I was in a rush. They were fast but very efficient. The guy that helped me (Didn't catch his name due to rushing) but he was short, bald and had glasses. He was very nice and the environment was great. This was my first time going to this pharmacy so I will definitely be back!! Thank you!!”
“I was astounded at how efficient this pharmacy is! I’ll be moving all my medications here. I got a single text letting me know it was ready (no nagging), and it really was ready when I got there. They already had my insurance info and made sure I had the lowest price. In and out faster than anywhere else I’ve ever been.”
“I'm a HUGE fan of Sams Club and even bigger fan of their scan and go app. (Which I've seldom had technical difficulties using) No lines. Leave stuff in your cart where you put it! Scan the barcodes on your phone, pay on your phone and go! Done- well almost. You still have to wait in the exit line. Today it irked me. I bought 6 items. SIX. THE DOOR GUARD SCANNED 3 items to 'verify' out of SIX ITEMS. SERIOUSLY!! I didn't buy steak, or high priced items. I had a clearance shirt, a bag of chips, a tub of M&Ms and 3 cases of Pepsi - I MAY AS WELL HAVE GONE THROUGH THE CHECKOUT! We are not from DE, we were in the area and popped in for a few things since it's closer than the one where we live. Great - all the stuff I wanted was in stock, I picked up a shirt (impulse buy). The bananas looked good. The lines weren't long (3pm on Tuesday.) I'd give it 5 stars if not for the girl I had to wait on, and now I know why. I'm glad I didn't have a cart full of stuff I'd still be there! I've typically been happy with all their Meats and members mark items. I will say that the product quality of meat and produce will vary greatly depending on location!”

“I've been trying like hell for an entire week to get my husband's prescriptions filled. On June 19, I called Walgreens, got the run around, a ton of lies, and lazy staff. June 24 I went up after being assured they had received the scripts from Rite aid ... Was lied to, called rite aid who said that they sent them and they resent them. Walgreens then printed them ... Yeah, they had received them. They refused to fill them for several hours. I didn't have the gas to come back for Necessary, Potentially Life or Death Medication and it was their screw up. My husband is an epileptic and seizures can be deadly, causing cardiac arrest.
I tried switching to Hometown Drug Pharmacy - Walgreens didn't send all the scripts in retaliation because I told the other customers about how little regard they have for life. This pharmacy refused to call for the missing scripts. They also said they weren't taking new customers (???).
I called and asked Walmart for help... And they went above and beyond for my husband and I in getting his medications. They even made sure to call the doctor to help us! They were able to get all but four meds - two Rite Aid had but failed to tell us that they had the refill so he didn't have them in awhile (and was doing better without), and two he is going to see the prescriber in a few days anyway.
Walmart actually cared enough to help get an epileptic his anti seizure medications, unlike Walgreens or Hometown Drug Pharmacy after he ran out several days ago. I hope that he doesn't have a seizure while we wait for his levels to come back up - but that would definitely not be the fault of Walmart!
