About Dutch House Museum
The Dutch House Museum is a modest Dutch building from the 1600s, an excellent example of a tradesperson's home. The house, furnishings, and history are very interesting. The tour is fabulous and awesome, led by very kind and knowledgeable staff. It is amazing to walk where people lived so long ago. The garden is available for wedding ceremonies. The museum is closed for walk-in tours until April 1, 2023, but group tours are available by appointment. Tickets for guided tours are sold at the New Castle Visitor Center.

We enjoyed the docent led tour of this house . We purchased tickets to tour this house and the Amstel House at the visitor center near the Dutch House. I am so happy this home survived centuries. It is amazing to walk where so many lived their lives so long ago. The tour was fabulous. The staff member who gave the tour has lived her entire life in New Castle and her mother before her. I loved her stories and appreciation for all things Delaware.
