Read House & Gardens is a historic property situated a stones throw from the water in the beautiful little town of New Castle. The garden is larger than expected, with plenty of shade, different sections, paths, trees, flowers, and sitting terraces. It is a great spot to spend a few hours with the family, perfect for a picnic.
The beautiful home offers tours where guides are incredibly knowledgeable and generous with their time, providing a tour at just the right pace to learn history. However, it is recommended to call before planning a visit as the house is not always open for tours. Despite this, the opportunity to enjoy the sunlight in the historic setting, with views of the water and the winter set-up, makes it a special visit.
