“If you live in the Delaware area, have money, and don't have an account here, there is a bridge I can sell you in Brooklyn. If you do not live with, or have family, who works or lives in the areas of interest, you can at least open an account by paying $12 annual dues to the Foundation to join the team. Best banking experience in my life. Forget PNC and other large banks, those are all out to lunch, go here instead. Their android app does not work, last I checked, but the card management app seems to work fine. They don't really answer the phone either, so just walk in and schedule an appointment. The people and policies are excellent. Small staff, nice service. I am very serious when I tell you that you WANT to take your money out of other banks and put it here instead. Sooner, rather than later.”

“Came there to Get a cashiers check for a new car after my previous one was totaled. Kristen was very nice & patient with my situation. She was apologetic for it took time. I totally understood for I was asking for a lot and understood if there were any kind of suspicion. Her and Kristina asked a few questions, I happily complied! They were simply doing their job and I respect that! Thanks as well to Jill whom I believe was their manager! She was also nice! Everything turned out great and was able to get my new car thanks to y’all!”

“I recently started my own business in June of 23. I had always heard that DFCU was friendly toward local and small business so I chose them to open my business bank account. From the beginning there have been hiccups. When I deposit checks into my account they are held for long periods before clearing. I have been told that this is due to my account being less than 6 months old so my deposited checks are flagged by fraud. So to be clear, my deposits have been held for 12 days at a time. You can imagine how frustrating it is to have to wait 3 weeks for a contractor to pay me then be told my bank is holding my payment an additional 2 weeks. As a small business I can’t keep all my money in the bank, usually as soon as it clears I have to pay bills and that can bring the balance pretty low. So for a bank to say they are good for small business then say that for the first 6 months you have to either wait way longer than usual for your checks to clear or leave all your money in the account so the checks can clear faster is absurd. Then this morning I checked my balance, a check had cleared and was available in my account. I repeat it was AVAILABLE! I deposited.a small check and a large one from recent payments to my business. These checks are not clearing for 12 days. When I checked my balance later that afternoon I was shocked to see the balance was much lower than it should have been. The check that was ALREADY cleared is now clearing in 9 days. The small check was deposited immediately. So they took the check BACK after I already waited 12 days for it to clear and added 9 days. Not sure how that’s legal. In summary, if you are a business interested in a good bank to use, keep looking. DFCU are crooks at best.Note - the branch employees have always been polite and professional, this review reflects on DFCU as a wholeEdit - received a call from DFCU customer service (shout out to Chantel, pardon if I misspelled your name), they were able to resolve my issue and honestly might have saved my holiday. I changed my review from 1 star to 4 because they bothered to reach out to me.”
