Since my comment they reached out to me and were very kind and helpful. My situation was resolved satisfactorily. I give them five starts and highly recommend.

I recently started my own business in June of 23. I had always heard that DFCU was friendly toward local and small business so I chose them to open my business bank account. From the beginning there have been hiccups. When I deposit checks into my account they are held for long periods before clearing. I have been told that this is due to my account being less than 6 months old so my deposited checks are flagged by fraud. So to be clear, my deposits have been held for 12 days at a time. You can imagine how frustrating it is to have to wait 3 weeks for a contractor to pay me then be told my bank is holding my payment an additional 2 weeks. As a small business I can’t keep all my money in the bank, usually as soon as it clears I have to pay bills and that can bring the balance pretty low. So for a bank to say they are good for small business then say that for the first 6 months you have to either wait way longer than usual for your checks to clear or leave all your money in the account so the checks can clear faster is absurd. Then this morning I checked my balance, a check had cleared and was available in my account. I repeat it was AVAILABLE! I deposited.a small check and a large one from recent payments to my business. These checks are not clearing for 12 days. When I checked my balance later that afternoon I was shocked to see the balance was much lower than it should have been. The check that was ALREADY cleared is now clearing in 9 days. The small check was deposited immediately. So they took the check BACK after I already waited 12 days for it to clear and added 9 days. Not sure how that’s legal. In summary, if you are a business interested in a good bank to use, keep looking. DFCU are crooks at best.Note - the branch employees have always been polite and professional, this review reflects on DFCU as a wholeEdit - received a call from DFCU customer service (shout out to Chantel, pardon if I misspelled your name), they were able to resolve my issue and honestly might have saved my holiday. I changed my review from 1 star to 4 because they bothered to reach out to me.

Nice people. Always greet you with a smile. Always have a kind word. They know their customers and seem to be genuinely happy to see them . Only reason I gave 5 stars is because I can't give more on reviews.

I have maintained an account with DFCU for more than 40 years. I retired in 2017 and returned to Delaware. Since I always had the account, I decided to use it primarily for my Real Estate business. I have several auto payments tied to my work linked to that account. Recently I attempted to use the drive through ATM in Smyrna. When I put my card in, I heard it drop inside the machine. I went inside to retrieve my card and was told that the person who services the ATM neglected to put the box back in place. They knew the ATM was not working, yet no one bothered to put a sign on the machine or close the lane. I was told they could print a new card, but I did not want that because of all the auto payments tied to the acct. I was told I had to wait until the following Thursday when the service person returned. I let them know I would be out of town and really needed access to my card. They said nothing could be done and I would get a call when the card was available. I had to withdraw cash and drive to Dover to deposit it in my Wells Fargo acct so I would have enough money for my work conference. I never received a call about my card and when I went to retrieve the card, I was told they could not go in the vault to retrieve my card due to short staffing. I spent hours trying to get in touch with someone to no avail. Their website is problematic and the wait times for phone service are awful. I finally got my card 12 days later, but no apology for the frustration and inconvenience. They also refused to give me the first and last name of a supervisor which is a sign of an organization with numerous complaints. Awful service, no accountability and poor follow up. To add insult to injury, when I finally picked up the card, the teller didn't even ask for my ID. Yes, she had likely seen me the two previous times, but really???

Paid off auto loan and DFCU refuses to give me back my car title, stating that it will take 3 months and that they do not know where it is.

I have been a member here for one year, and I have had my good and bad with them, but I will say it's been 95% good & 5% bad. They are a great credit union with low rates, and awesome checking and saving account options.

A very comfortable and welcoming Bank. I prefer this bank over others that I have used in the past.

Wow, what a shame. Whos responsible? I used to tout the greatness of this institution. Customer service however is now a thing of the past. I was left on hol due high call volume too many times. It would seem they need to hire some folks to answer phones being as there is no one working in the branches anymore, but that would impact profit I suppose. I hear they got a new president, so hes probably making big bonuses for the profits gereated. Nobody cares anymore. I was on holf for almost an hour, i then used the callback feature and waited days with no callback. I even called when they were closed, and sure enough, it said they couldnt answer my call due to heavy call volume as they say every time i call " heavy call volume"! Really, ya'll need better lies to cover whoever is running this place to the ground. Sorry, used to love ya. Not any more!

Used to be a great bank to deal with. Dover FCU still offers great rates on loans. However, the Smyrna branch seems to have problems with attention to detail and messed up my deposit.

They never answer the phone even at the extension they leave for you. Online website never works. charge an outrageous fee to pay your loan no matter how you pay it. Paid off my loan was told my title would congee in the mail in 6-7 weeks to later find out they held for a .63 balance that shouldn't have existed. They input everything incorrectly and customer service is terrible. Go elsewhere.

I've been a member here for nearly 40 years. In the last 4 or 5 years, their services and their trustworthiness have been horrible. Then there was that little incident where they allowed staff to access member's personal data from a home unsecured site, placing all members at risk for identity theft (trying to fix that mistake has cost members a fortune) After their recent online banking site "upgrade", and all the horrible difficulties caused by that, I started looking for another bank. I found a bank that offers better services and about 10 times the interest rate on savings accounts. Please do yourself a favor and shop around a bit before you put your trust in Dover Federal.
