Disappointing service both here at the Alico Commons branch and with the bank customer service in general.After seven months of wrangling with FEMA, insurance companies and their adjusters, contractors, and mortgage companies, we finally received payment for damages following flooding by Hurricane Ian. This required proof that repairs were over 77% complete. At last, the check arrived in the mail. With contractors growing impatient, I rushed the check to Truist, Alico Commons branch office in Ft Myers, FL to make the deposit. While recording the deposit, the teller told me that there would be a nine day hold on the funds while waiting for clearance. Nine days? I understand the bank needs to protect itself from large deposits. I asked the teller what could be done to shorten the window, to something more reasonable. The teller said that the branch office had no authority but instead, gave me the number for Truist customer service.After numerous calls to get to the correct person, I found out that customer service cannot override the funds hold. In frustration, I asked to speak with the agent's manager. The manager said that the service center system did not permit any changes to the automatic hold place in the deposit. Only the service leader at Alico Commons could shorten the hold duration. The manager offered to help by internally calling the branch leader on my behalf while I waited. After several attempts, the service center manager said she would wait an hour or so and try again to reach the branch leader internally and that she would follow up with me. A few hours later I received a voice message from the service center manager saying that she was unable to reach the branch leader internally and that I should call back to the service center. I reached another agent who tried again to contact the branch leader but had no success. Today, I went to the branch to speak with the leader but was intercepted by another teller who asked if I had an appointment. After hearing my explanation, she told me she was sorry, that nothing that can be done. This is because after writing the check, there was a high risk that the mortgage company would change its mind and recall the check. I am not a banker, but that statement is just not credible. Further since my deposit was in a non-interest-bearing checking account, I would not receive any interest while they held the funds, presumably collecting interest for Truist. It is a shame that no one thought to suggest that to me.A disappointing experience from start to finish. After six years of banking and a mortgage with Sun Trust and Truist we will be parting ways.

Wait time is ALWAYS extremely long. Never enough tellers on duty to handle customers.

Kelly needs to find herself a coal miners job since dealing with people is beneath her. I can not stand this branch in Arcadia. Always some complaints or excuses on why they don't want to do their job. No problems with my other bank Mid Florida, at least they are professional and very helpful. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BANK TO ANYONE.

My husband owns a small business. While waiting for 3 contractors to pay for services rendered my account went negative. We received one check finally and quickly deposited it only to find out later they put a 10 DAY HOLD on my money. No warning. Talk about kicking a person when they're down. Now they are just holding our money hostage. Dispicable. Also we have been customers for 22 years. Run don't walk away from this newly formed bank, they don't care about people.

I was with SunTrust for over 15 yrs and never had issues like this before. Triust has stepped back in time 20 yrs. They must have a 5 yoa that programmed their account online system because it's never up to date and takes to three business days to balance your account. Even then it's wrong and u have to call to get it straight. Since the brought out SunTrust, it's been a nightmare each month and never gets resolved. If u care any at all about your money then I'm warning u please bank with anyone other then BB&t / triust.

The service at this bank as dropped to an F rating - since the Sun Trust merged with BB&T they have totally given up on any semblance of assisting customers. Wait time is over 60 minutes when you call and then you get disconnected. When going to the bank in person there could be many folks waiting to be helped. Wait time could not be estimated. Cut off my debit card without notice (over 2K in acct). Time to move on.

This place sucks. I went to drop off a check for a friend and waited in the drive through for an hour before anyone even spoke to me. The staff are rude and lazy. I personally bank at Midflorida credit union where I’ve never waited in the drive through for more than 10 minutes. Sun trust SUCKS!
