I recently opened a credit card account with This credit union. I received a $3000 balance but then I was told I had to submit my Social Security card, two paycheck stubs, my identification. I went ahead and did all of that to then get a letter in the mail that told me that my account was closed because they couldn’t verify my employment and no other information was given when I called the customer service number I have never had to supply so much personal information for a credit card, especially with such a low credit limit. They told me that I could reapply and I told him no thank you I would prefer to go with someone that’s more reputable and has better customer service.

Wao impresionante cuántos malos comentarios. Hoy e estado tratando de abrir una cuenta con ustedes y no pude hacerlo hablé con una asesora y lo tuvo que hacer ella aunque debí enviar documentos. Pero no se que tan bueno sea esto con comentarios tan negativos para este banco. Me gustaría saber qué dice pent acerca de esta mala reputación?

I had multiple savings accounts with PenFed and the reason I am giving only 1-star is because of the difficulty I had when moving funds between the two accounts. They would always put a 5-day hold on the availability of my funds even though the funds that I moved were in the originating account for months to years! It’s not like “new” money where the credit union needs to wait to make sure the funds have cleared, I simply was moving existing funds from one account to another both held at PenFed.

They didn't close my CD upon maturity. The maturity option has clear instructions to tell them what to do.

In Puerto Rico we have an extraordinary experience. Have a ATM in every Walgreens and various branches. But in Florida it's like the bank doesn't exist. There are no ATM's, there is no presence. I wish you can solve this because driving to Bartow is really exhausting. I'm running out of cash.

Been a member for many years. I noticed some unusual charges on my account and called to inquire about these charges. I was told that my debit card was hacked and they were canceling my current debit card and was sending a new one out and I would have it in 7 -10 business days. 7 days out, I called again as I had not received my new debit card. I was told my card was sent the previous day. I work 12 hour shifts and there are no branches open when I leave for work or get off of work to get cash. Needless to say, I still have not received my new card and zero access to my money for the Thanksgiving holiday! I am.beyond pissed, it shouldn't be so difficult to get a replacement card. I am seriously considering closing all three of my accounts and going elsewhere. Never had this issue when it was Magnify or Community First. Penfed does not care whatsoever about their members.

Terrible company stay away. Was approved for an auto loan through preapproval and regular application. Then was told over the phone that I was not eligible for any loan after they already pulled my credit. They said it was because I had a an uneligible account. But I was able to log into my account go to the preapproval process and get approved and then complete the regular application and also get approved. I complained about having a hard inquiry on my credit report and they said there’s nothing they can do. Why would you allow me to get preapproved when I’m not even eligible doesn’t make any sense.
