I came out of the house this morning to a flat tire on my work truck. I still had to go to work and did not have time to fix it. Thankfully, I called Fair Tech and the tire was fixed less than four hours later. Thank you for the fast service. Fair price, too.

These guys are great! If you need a quick and responsive mechanic that is honest and knows what he's doing, look no further. The prices are very fair, and it sure beats waiting all day at a shop!

So thankful I found Angel. I'm all the way in NC trying to get my daughters ride fixed and came across Fair Tech. I don't deal with ripoff dealerships so it's a blessing to find someone with great communication and quick service. I will definitely be sending more business his way. Thank you again for a great experience.

Mechanic responded quickly to my inquiry. I explained in the email message that my vehicle was a 1971 Corvette and that it needed the ignition key lock cylinder replaced. When the mechanic arrived and after talking to him for a short while, I could tell he was not familiar with doing this repair on this car (or maybe any car). I told him that there were several videos on YouTube about doing this repair on my year of Corvette. After looking at the video(s) he proceeded with the repair. He was able to remove the steering wheel remove the parts to get access to the area where the old key lock cylinder could be removed and replaced with the new one. After he installed the new key lock cylinder I was there when he tested it. The car tried to crank over to start, but unfortunately the battery charge was too low to start the car. The mechanic and I decided that he would return in a day or two to finish putting the steering wheel parts back together, because a nylon piece on the steering column had come apart from age and needed to be replaced. We found the part that was need on the internet and I was able to pick it up from a Corvette store in the area. I finish charging the battery up after he left and the car started right up. After I purchased the part that was broken on the steering wheel area, I arranged a day for the mechanic to return and finish putting the steering wheel back together. The mechanic worked on it for an hour or so and let me know he was done. The mechanic said the parts on the steering wheel didn't go back together that well (the horn wouldn't work correctly) because he thought there were some other worn parts in that area that needed to be replaced. I was not too happy with that, but the my biggest concern was that the car no longer turned over (tried to start) when the ignition key was turned. The mechanic affirmed that when the key was turned that the power came on ( dashboard lights, radio, etc) so the battery was charged and working. He said the car not starting now was probably a "preexisting problem" before he replaced the key lock cylinder. I pointed out that the car tried to turn over and start when he tried the key lock cylinder after the installation (before finishing putting the steer wheel back together). I also told him after I charged the battery when he left the car started right up also. The mechanic then stated he did not really remember that, and that these "old cars" always seem to have problems come up. The mechanic then proceeded to pack his tools up and tell me I owed him $100 for today (the visit previously was $150). It is obvious that the mechanic did something (accidentally disconnected something...?) when putting the steering wheel back together, but he was not conferrable working on my older car and wish to leave. I wish he never attempted to work on my older car (even though everything mechanically on it had been rebuilt) if he did not have the knowledge to do it. I am sure he is good at working on newer cars, but now I am going to need to hire another mechanic to "fix" the problem he created. The problem was not "preexisting" as he stated... he created the problem.
