“We took our 2014 Buick Enclave in, the AC wasn't blowing cool. Gary got our car in did a diagnostic put some dye stuff in the lines and sent us home for a day told us to run the ac as much as possible. We brought it back in and he hooked up the black light to see if any leaks. He couldn't see any but thr compressor was bad and seen we also had a leak in the radiator. He quoted us a price and we got the work done. Fair deal in price and we had our car back with in 2 days. Thanks Gary for a excellent job done!”

“Finally found a scrap yard that’s actually close to Palm Coast and doesn’t take half the day to get to. Big plus right there. It also wasn’t insanely busy, so the gentleman helping me had time to explain how they want things sorted and show me the ropes instead of just rushing me through. I appreciated that a lot.
Now, I’ll be honest — the prices were lower than TMR on some stuff. I brought in 85 lbs of clean extruded aluminum. TMR was paying around $1.25/lb, while John’s was paying about $0.70/lb. That definitely stung a little because I would’ve made more at TMR. But with gas prices the way they are, I probably saved around $20 just by not driving all the way out there.
What really made the difference for me was honesty.
Some material I brought to TMR before was graded as cast aluminum, while John’s graded the exact same material as zinc and actually explained why. Even if I didn’t love hearing it, at least the guy was upfront with me and talked me through it.
The last couple times I went to TMR, I left feeling ripped off. One time I brought in around 30 lbs of sheet aluminum — basic obvious aluminum — and they marked it as stainless steel and paid me about half of what it should’ve been worth. That wasn’t a small mistake. Anybody who scraps knows the difference. I’ve been going there for almost 20 years, and it feels like the same issues keep happening without getting corrected.
At John’s Auto Parts, the guy told me what each item was as he weighed it and explained how they wanted things separated. That kind of communication matters. If someone tells me what gets paid better and how they want it sorted, I’ll learn and do it right next time.
Overall, the people here were friendly and respectful, and that goes a long way with me. They also have separate locations for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, which threw me off at first, but now I know.
I’m probably going to make this my regular spot. Maybe the prices aren’t always the highest, but I’d rather deal with people who are upfront and treat me fairly than drive to Daytona and feel like I’m getting shorted while being told nothing’s wrong.

My car looks much better than before, not only the repair work, but they completely detailed and waxed my car. This would not be a big deal with most cars, but my car was covered with sand, inside and out, probably a few dead animals I picked up at the beach. Seriously, thank you. My car looks amazing!
