“My very first week with this lease truck was one of the toughest of my driving career, and drivers need to know what to expect.
Up front, they required a $1,000 deposit before they would really even talk to me about a truck. I live in West Tennessee, and the truck was up in Ohio. I wasn’t going to drive six hours one way just to look at it, so I had to depend on transparency from the pictures they sent — but the photos were poor quality and didn’t show much. When I got the truck, it didn’t even have a bed. I had to go straight to orientation and stay two nights in a hotel out of pocket just to have somewhere to sleep.
Right out of the gate there were issues: a shock with a hole in it, flat-spotted tires, no inverter, and the A/C wouldn’t cool at idle. Sleeping in 90+ degree heat was miserable. Later, when the truck sat two days in the shop, I had no money left for a hotel and had to sweat it out in the truck overnight. They also consider bunk heaters and APUs as accessories, which means they can lease you a truck without those systems working.
The exhaust sensor was the biggest ordeal. At first it only showed up as a check engine light, but the next day in Memphis it went into a full 5 MPH derate. Fortunately, they had it towed to their Olive Branch shop at no cost to me. I supplied the replacement sensor, and they covered the tow and the mechanics’ labor. The tech spent two days straight fighting to get the old one out, but he didn’t give up until it was fixed. They also recharged the A/C properly so it finally cooled at idle.
The scariest part for me was having to cancel my very first scheduled load. My family and I had spent everything we had just to get into this truck, hoping for a better future, and failing that first load was terrifying.
Here’s the truth: communication was rough, I had to push them constantly, and I was out of pocket for fuel, hotels, and small things right from day one. This is not a crème-de-la-crème lease program — it’s a second-chance program. They don’t run your credit; if you’ve got $10,000 down, you’re in a truck. But you need to understand what that means: you’re not getting perfect equipment, you’re getting a functional truck that passes DOT and might make you money if you’re willing to put more into it.
That said, I’ll give them credit where it’s due: they stood behind their truck on the big stuff. They paid the tow bill, they paid the mechanics for the exhaust sensor and A/C repairs, and their tech put in the effort to finish the job right. For that reason, I think 4 stars is fair. Just know going in — you’ll need to be persistent, and you’ll probably have out-of-pocket surprises, but they will eventually stand behind the equipment.”

“I received a call from budget two days before my move saying they didn't have the truck I reserved. I was driving down from Maryland to Coconut creek. I called U-Haul At self storage USA and Maria was able to find me a truck and a car trailer as well. She was so kind and efficient. She kept in constant communication throughout the process My husband and I were so relieved because the movers were already scheduled in Florida and Maryland. She's really wonderful. If your in need of a U-Haul please utilize their service she is amazing.”
“Out of the 4-5 locations I have been to this past month, this one by far was the best experience. The gentleman at the desk with the long hair was nice and professional. He explained everything clearly. Answered my questions. Even though this was a little further from my location than I wanted, I would probably go again just because of the experience. Compared to all the horrible experiences I have had prior to this location - this was great. You can actually check out your truck by speaking with someone in person.
The app sucks! Don't count on the app alone. Have a backup plan if you can't check in or out using the app.”

“We bought a lot of furniture on Saturday and decided that it would be more time and cost efficient to rent a uhaul. Of all the places my husband tried to get a truck the size we needed, this was the only one who had it. The reservation process was quick and easy. The only snag is that they close at 1:00 pm on Sunday, but we made it. This truck rental is actually located in a storage company, but have a ton of trucks, vans and even truck pulls. It is located in McNab rd off of University dr. The picking up process was also easy, the only thing that we were iffy about is that they take a picture of yoir drivers license. It must be a hassle because the clerk kept apologizing and telling us that is a uhaul thing and he has nothing to do with it. Other than that, everything was A-OK. Great and convenient location, lots of vehicles and a clean and nice office.”

“I was a little skeptical at first but Everything is shelf check in you check in from your phone make sure you use a good referral contact they will call them to verify then it’ll prompt you to take pictures of the vehicle to check everything . Then it’ll give you a code to the lockbox to get the key out . Truck was clean only complaint would’ve been they mentioned I’ll receive a furniture dolly and furniture pads nothing was in the back of truck . 10/10 would get a U-Haul from here again .”

“Happy I got the insurance. I normally don't get extra insurance but something told me to go ahead and get it for my move. On the way to drop off the truck I stopped for a bite to eat. While driving through the parking lot of the restaurant I didn't see a low hanging branch that hit the overhead compartment leaving a hole. I reported it and the insurance took care of the damages.”
