I had missed an appointment and I was informed that they could not give my dog her eye medication until she gets evaluated. They gave me a really quick appointment. “I followed Dr Hekman from her previous practice where she cared for my now 10 y/o Shiba Inu when Poppy was spayed at several months old. I really appreciate Dr Hekman's knowledge, authenticity and kindness as well as her anesthesia know-how with careful up-to-date medical knowledge & skills especially to handle Poppy's heart beat irregularities during anesthesia for dental cleanings.

Dr Hekman has been a vet for decades and left an excellent large group practice to join vet medical director Dr Grabowski at Pet Vet Deerfield Beach which fortunately has similar quality vet practices with compassionate care for fur babies and understanding of their parents.

Pet Vet A.H. has a friendly & knowledgeable staff, is well equipped with clean facilities, low stress handling of fur babies and kind communication with parents/ families. The prices imo are reasoned and there are periodic promotional discounts--being aware of the much higher costs of living for all of us these days.

It sometimes takes a while to find the right vet clinic for each of us. But when we do it's such a relief. I am a retired pediatrician and I am so happy to have the found the right vet care facility for Poppy twice in a row.”

From the very beginning of this journey, Lucy came in scared, sick, and facing an incredibly serious diagnosis. Every step of the way, Dr. G took the time to explain everything ..the diagnosis, the options, the risks, the expectations, and what Lucy’s quality of life could look like. Lucy ultimately had to undergo a major surgery, and trusting someone with your dog’s life is terrifying. But Dr. G’s skill, confidence, and compassion gave me peace. Lucy’s surgery went beautifully, and I am confident her recovery will be nothing short of amazing. Seeing her already trying to move around and eating right when we got home is a testament to the care she received before, during, and after surgery.

This office doesn’t just practice veterinary medicine they practice humanity. They care deeply, they listen, they explain, and they show up for both the animals and their owners when it matters most.

Because of Dr. G, Mel, Amanda and all of the staff at Deer Run Animal hospital, Lucy has a second chance at life, and I will forever be grateful for that. I would trust them with any animal I love without hesitation.

“My rabbit was very sick and my regular exotic vet couldn’t fit us in for a same day appointment, so they referred me to Broward Avian & Exotic Animal Hospital. My bunny was able to be seen by Dr. Kelleher immediately as an emergency visit, which cost $150, but that was fine with me, as he was in desperate need of vet care. He was hospitalized for three nights and thankfully, thanks to Dr. Kelleher’s care and same day emergency appointment, he survived!!
