Courtyard DeLand Historic Downtown is a solid hotel in a convenient location near the downtown district and the University. Many shops, bars, and restaurants are within walking distance. It seems to be one of the newer properties with a modern, sleek design, a large lounge reception area, and an interior bar. Rooms are updated, decent, clean, and well kept with comfortable beds and large showers, though the shower floor tiles can be very slippery. The conference room is suitable for business. However, some concerns include a lack of communication between staff shifts and amenities like a pool waterfall or fire pit not being available as expected.
Overall, it was a solid hotel in a convenient location near downtown and the University. The hotel was clean and well kept, though I discovered too late that the mini fridge in my room was either not working or not plugged in - so I lost a bit of food I was saving for the next day.

Location has many restaurants within walking distance. Rooms were updated and great, only comment, the tiles on the shower floor are VERY slippery. Be careful when showering

DeLand is a great destination and Marchettis is the best coffee shop
