Courtyard DeLand Historic Downtown is a solid hotel in a convenient location near the downtown district and the University. Many shops, bars, and restaurants are within walking distance. It seems to be one of the newer properties with a modern, sleek design, a large lounge reception area, and an interior bar. Rooms are updated, decent, clean, and well kept with comfortable beds and large showers, though the shower floor tiles can be very slippery. The conference room is suitable for business. However, some concerns include a lack of communication between staff shifts and amenities like a pool waterfall or fire pit not being available as expected.
Typical Marriott look and feel. That’s what I like — consistency! Room was spacious and centrally located to several business and eateries.

The best place to stay when you are visiting Stetson University. Walk one block to campus or walk two/three blocks to great local restaurants, bars and nightlife. Staff is friendly and helpful, able to offer SU advice and info. For example, I overheard staff telling a family the hours for the campus bookstore.
