About DeLand House Museum
The DeLand House Museum is a beautifully restored historic home that offers a glimpse into the past. Managed by the historical society, the museum provides guided tours at 12:30 and 2:30 for a $10 entry fee. The knowledgeable tour guides share fascinating details about the home and the family who once lived there, making visitors feel like they've stepped back in time. Recently reopened after a multi-year renovation, the museum grounds also include the West Volusia Historical Center, which houses a collection of artifacts, genealogical resources, and a small gift shop. While the museum was temporarily closed for additional renovations during some visits, the helpful staff and volunteers provided engaging information about the town's rich history, leaving visitors eager to return once the restoration is complete.

The West Volusia Historical Society has done an amazing job with the DeLand House and its docent-led tours. It is newly renovated and updated so if you've been before, it's the perfect time to go back! I love the history and the area. Close to Stetson University and downtown DeLand so it's a great trip to make.

We essentially had a private tour because we went during the week in February. Therefore the Docent was thorough and could answer all of our questions. Also appreciated some history of the hybridization of oranges.
