The Gillespie Museum on the Stetson University campus offers a delightful experience for the whole family. This gem and mineral museum features a Florida Geology exhibit, permanent and rotating exhibits on Geology and the Environment, and a Gift Shop. The museum grounds boast a Native Florida Plant Landscape and a Volusia Sandhill longleaf pine restoration area. What a wonderful place to take the kids! So many simple but interesting rock and gem exhibits and activities. Though it’s not a big museum, it doesn’t disappoint! Can easily fill2 hours, 3 if your kids are particularly interested in the subject. Clean, airy, full of sunlight, and so well maintained!
