Key detail! Ignore the open hours listed here ("Closed at 11pm"). This and all other rental car places at Destin Airport stay open late, sometimes to 2am, if you confirm with them your flight is arriving late.I read this online, tried to confirm with the national call center.... they said 11pm only.... But that's not true.My flight arrived at 11:20pm. I booked my car with Budget for the next morning 7am, but was able to pick it up late at night.Just give it a try. They all stay open late.

Beware of the front desk employees, especially the dark haired young man who presents himself as a “blessed” representative of the Lord…He is a scam artist and make sure you review your invoice in totality! He should be fired!

Creating a “Get a VPS Hertz rep on the phone Challenge” let me know if you wanna participate.First be aware this is a corporate location - small fleet, cannot hop in the car & go, must go to counter first. Most importantly if you need to reach them for any reason whatsoever during your trip it is absolutely impossible. You will need to be transferred out to the call center in India. They will make errors on your reservation. Lastly I returned a car full once and they charged me a fuel surcharge. For you to fix it and get the charge removed takes significantly longer then for them to accidentally report the fuel wrong.

Loved the Nissan truck. Although I am on my sons full coverage ins I was told I couldn't drive it, unless I pay $13 a day but his spouse could. He has no spouse.

Good selection of vehicles to choose from. Be sure to take your license as well as the credit card or debit card you made the reservation with. They have to physically verify both items. This place was easy to get to and there is a Murphy’s fuel station close by so you can fill up before you return your rental.

My family rented from Hertz for our recent vacation. We are a family of 3 adults, a teenager and a 2-year old. We were given a small car. There was trash inside the vehicle from, I’m assuming a previous renter, the a/c was not working properly and began blowing warm air, and the check engine light came on within 30 mins of us having the rental. We attempted to contact Hertz continuously throughout our vacation to no avail. We rented from the Destin airport and stayed in Navarre. We were never able to contact Hertz during our vacation. Upon returning the car, we explained our frustration and the employee acted like he could not have cared any less. Would not recommend

Miss Kay was wonderful and helpful. She helped so much with our unexpected car exchange due to issues with our last car. The process was very quick considering how busy they were. The staff was able to make us feel top priority.

Hertz has caused me an enormous headache for the last 2 days thanks to one of their locations not being open the day my contract ended and it also did have a lock box. While I will still have to dispute some charges I am grateful there are some professional and responsible staff like Sunny at this VPS location. I suspect it’s a thankless job, I’m certainly appreciative of staff who care about their work and the customer.As a gold member and a frequent business traveler I can say that her actions alone have retained me as a customer. Hertz some very flawed operational procedures that made a small problem a worse problem by no empowering staff to resolve issues, sure hope some new executive leadership gets in and they take the time to speak with staff like Sunny for ways to empower and improve their service.
