“It is truly incredible to see such a well-preserved piece of history, and I really enjoyed walking through the property and imagining what life was like hundreds of years ago. The tour was fascinating and the staff clearly care a lot about sharing the stories of the family who lived here. My only reason for not giving it a perfect score is that the limited hours make it a bit tricky to plan a visit, but if you are a history buff, it is definitely worth the trip. Fairbanks House”

“What an exquisite find! My husband planned a long weekend away and discovered the Schoolhouse Inn online. With only 15 rooms, this historic school is cleverly decorated and quiet comfortable. Rooms are clean and the staff is super friendly.

Downtown Fernadina is now charging for parking. The inn is only a 5-10 minute walk to shops and restaurants.”

“This is a beautiful resort. It is huge. I loved the nature-feel. It's like being in a safe jungle. The staff is amazing. They had to help me find my way multiple times. I'm coming back, with my mom. A wonderful place to bring the whole family. Very child friendly.”

“The hotel is walking distance to the ocean, it's near Fort Clinche park, gas station is across the street and some great restaurants are within walking distance. The front lady was nice.
I wish the hotel offers better breakfast. It would be a plus if the hotel offers complimentary happy hour to guests.
The room is spacious, but it needs some attention.”

“We stayed here for our anniversary and loved it. The breakfast every morning was delicious and I really liked having different options to choose from. Room was very nice and clean. There is no coffee maker or microwave in the rooms but that's to be expected from a B&B like this. There is coffee in the lobby. Being only a few steps from the beach was great and the hotel beach chairs were well maintained and comfy. I really enjoyed being so near the state park. We came during the spring so the beach wasn't crowded but I could see crowds getting bad in the height of summer since the hotel is close to the main public beach park. Overall great place and we will be coming back.”

We were so impressed with the exceptional customer service and location of this hotel. Walking distance to the beach and yummy food. “Quant inn. Room was nice but needed some work. There were gaps under the windows and down the side of the ac unit where you could see light from outside. The room was musty smelling but that was due to the ac running constantly allowing the moisture to build up. I adjusted the system and the moisture dissipated so what. Filling in those gaps and letting the humidity in will also help. Breakfast was good and the bar next door played good live music. Location was great for see the old town. A typical older southern style home.”
