“We found EARS to be an exceptionally caring voice for the animals in our community! EARS (endangered animal rescue sanctuary) of central florida, Wildlife Sanctuary, Citra is a nonprofit 501c3 organization dedicated to providing lifelong refuge for exotic and endangered animals rescued from abuse, neglect, or displacement and often utilized by The state FWC to place animals when appropriate or calls from local governments as well as private owners whom no longer have the resources or ability to care for their animals. Located in Citra, Florida, the sanctuary offers guided tours to educate visitors about the animals and their stories. The sanctuary is home to many animals representing multiple endangered and exotic species, including lions, tigers, cougars, primates, tortoise, and bears. EARS relies on donations, sponsorships, and tour proceeds to fund its mission and provide food, care, enrichment, and medical treatment to the animals. No photography is allowed in the sanctuary however they do have beautiful photos available for donation to assist in offsetting costs. What a wonderful and educational walking tour!
