We stayed here during hurricane Milton. It was an incredibly long ride from our home that we had to evacuate from. We were traveling with two small dogs and 3 birds!! Every single person that worked here made us and our pets feel welcome!! They treated us with compassion!! There were 3 employees that were on our floor when we were getting ready to check out that took turns holding and taking pictures with my Cockatoo Chance!! I Wish I would have gotten their information to state here by name how Very special they made our bad hurricane situation into a wonderful experience and to know where they were going to post the pictures with Chance as I would have loved to see the pictures and saved them for memories!! So if you 3 see this..please let me know where I can see them and Huge personal thank you guys!! You made me smile at a time that was very difficult ❤️ Margie, Chance and Furby

I love the location, hotel is pricey but that’s what I would expect. Service was great on all sides of there operation! From front desk workers and cleaning staff to the amazing valet crew in the morning. They offered to do pretty much anything I needed regarding helping us get in and out of the hotel! Thank you

If I could give them ZERO stars, I would. Do not stay here! We paid over $700 per room for 2 rooms for move in. Their staff steals, then say too bad we didn’t find it. I don’t understand how manager says they are going to open an investigation, then never even bothers to call you back. Horrible experience, management does not care. I can’t even believe this is a Marriott property.

I had a great time at this hotel with my family, I would recommend to anyone. The one thing that stood out was the valet service, they were very attentive and my vehicle was returned safe and quick. They even grabbed my bags!
Rooms: Clean and nice rooms
Nearby activities: Football games
Safety: Make sure to not go out too late

My favorite place to stay in Gainesville. Close to everything and you don't need a car.
Nearby activities: Next to campus and walkable to downtown

This is a high-end hotel that's beautiful, sleek, and extremely accessible from the University of Florida campus. I want to add that the hotel staff is amazing -- great service, prompt check in/out processes, and receptionists Stephanie and Sam were especially kind and made sure my needs were met! The bar is beautiful, has TVs for watching sports, and the rooms are incredibly comfortable. Not much more you can ask for in a hotel.
Nearby activities: Easy walk to the stadium, plenty of food options nearby, walkable to campus, grocery store nearby, Krispy Kreme nearby
Walkability: Extremely accessible to UF campus. A 5 minute walk to Plaza of the Americas and located on the same block as several restaurants, and right across the street from a Publix. I did not have a car on this trip and rarely needed to Uber.

I stayed at this hotel last night (8/13) and I need help. Through my mother’s app, we messaged and coordinated a late checkout (4PM). A confirmation was sent in writing, we called to make sure, and our keys were extended. When arriving back at the room at around 3:40PM to retrieve our things and leave, we were horrified to the room being made up and empty(as in all of our stuff was gone). Our first thought was to immediately call the desk as this was obviously a horrible mistake by the hotel. The woman on the phone tried to tell me we did not have late checkout. After telling her we had a confirmation message from the front desk, she rudely hung up the phone with no definitive answer or plan of action. So, I took it upon myself to track down some housekeepers in the hallway and see what they knew about my taken belongings. They said when they do a checkout clean, they trash personal items left in the room. I frantically explained that we were NOT checked out. All the housekeepers had nothing to say and when I told them front desk wasn’t helping they replied “Yeah, they’re not going to help you” (What????). Next step was to go to the desk myself and try to get help. After listening to everything that happened, a woman by the name Taylor Skinner started to get irritated. For context, my mother and I were rightfully upset and confused- but we were NOT yelling, cursing, or screaming at her. I was literally crying silently like I couldn’t have yelled at this woman if I tried. I worked front desk for a long time. I understand disasters like these happen. And yet with all this added empathy I had for her- I was APPALLED by the way Taylor was treating my mom and I. After telling her I had an extremely valuable gold necklace in the room that was taken, all she did was write down a description and tell me there’s nothing else she can do. We asked her to call a manager or literally lift a finger to help me, and she was flailing her hands around at us and eventually shouted “What do you want me to do” wafting her arms through the air (seriously, check the cameras). Please, I need help. I don’t really care about the ridiculous way we were treated it was just insult to injury. I care about my necklace. It’s gold with the initial F on it. It was taken (along with everything else we owned) from me. At this point I deserve your help. I really just want my necklace back. You guys royally messed up. I don’t even know how to proceed since no one will call me back. Please contact me.

I have to stay in town often for work and each time the staff are very kind and respectful from valet to housekeeping and reception. The rooms are clean and needs are met timely.

I would have given this hotel. 5 stars across-the-board if it wasn't for the front desk. I am a platinum member with Bonvoy and booked my room for 1 night but needed to stay longer. I went to the front desk and requested to extend my stay. I was told the hotel was sold out for my requested extention. So thinking maybe my loyalty to the Marriott brand might get me some benefit I explained I was Platinum level only to be told it doesn't matter. I then went to my room and started to look for alternatives but too my surprise this hotel was available. So I thought no way now I have to try it. I was beyond apauld when I was able to book it for the additional dates I originally requested but was told it was unavailable. So I will never stay at this hotel again in the future after this stay. More importantly my loyalty to the Marriott brand is now gone. My 100 plus nights a year are going to go to a brand that appreciates loyalty....

Great location. Clean rooms. Don’t get room plus breakfast - total waste. If you have an electric vehicle the charger is ONLY 6 watts. Will take three days to charge a car ??
Nearby activities: Everything is walkable
Walkability: Walk everywhere you need to go if seeing a kid in school. If for a gator game best location there is.
Food and drinks: Left right whichever direction you choose there an option for food and drink

By far the best location, pool, and hotel gym available for any visit to Gainesville. Room is modern and well appointed. Staff is courteous, prompt, and professional. The hotel gym and the rooftop pool are the best kept secret in town. The bar is a great place to meet before going out and there are plenty of great food options in walking distance. I look forward to every chance I can stay at the AC Marriot downtown Gainesville.
