We rent in 2023 a car by Alamo and took the car in Miami. During our Florida trip we had trouble with the car in Gainesville. So we called Alamo and they send us a towing vehicle, who bings us with the car to Alamo in Gainesville. There was a stuff named Chris, he told us, that he has no replacement vehicle for us and said, that we shall come back next day at 3 p.m..We came back next day for a new car. There was Chriss again and told us, that he has no car for us. We must call Alamo in Miami by phone, that was not easy for us, because English was not our first language. Chris makes no indicatives to help us. Our luck was , that his working time ends and an other staff of Alamo started his job. For him it was no problem to give us a new car. We must rent a new car, pay for it, so that we have payed one week for two cars. But we have rent the car by the german Autmobile club ADAC, and by ADAC we have got the money back, we have payed too much. For us it was a very bad experience with Alamo Gainesville Airport, not a advertising for Alamo. The reason for this was a very incompetent person, not able and not eager to help customers - his name is Chris. So my advice is, beware of Chris at Alamo in Gainesville.Dr. Stefan Rexin, Germany

Horrible experience ever, waited three hours for a vehicle. Still didn’t acquire a vehicle, management was horrible, and rude.

I can’t believe this even happened. Nightmare experience. I decided to do the surprise cheaper car to save money and made a huge mistake. The car randomly got a temporarily loss of engine power when I was in the turn lane: I took the car to the Gainesville Location because I happened to be minutes away from there. I was then told there was a minor scuff on the bottom of the bumper and because of that they needed to run my insurance to make a claim. Keep in mind that I did absolutely nothing wrong. I told them I wasn’t going to do that and had to rent a Hertz to get back. The manager here acts nice but I believe this location has been known to put on more claims from what I am reading from the reviews. It looks like its a systematic issue here. Do not return or use this agency, they will just reply to this with a generic response, there is no accountability for their actions. Always take a full video of the car when picking up so you don't have this happen to you. I received a car that had mechanical issues and then was victimized with a false claim that was not of my doing. Shame.

My original vehicle through Alamo was a Hyundai Sante Fe for my wife and daughter to travel 18 hours to Florida. The tire went flat, and the only thing Alamo had available was a truck for the day, so we took it, thinking we could exchange. When we tried to go in to this Alamo location to swap, there is an African American manager old-head with white hair who was a d*ck about swapping because he "didn't have the inventory" and said "We're done." repeatedly and told me to leave, didn't check, didn't try to look, just no. I escalated with customer service but SOMEONE GET THAT GUY FIRED since he has no sense of customer service, urgency, or compassion. I will never rent from Alamo AGAIN!(Also no one wore name badges because they're cowards and don't wanna be called out)

NEVER return a car here, unless you want to spend months trying to fight erroneous and exaggerated charges by the Alamo GNV representatives, EVEN when you have proof that you did not cause the damages in the two hours you drove from Orlando to Gainesville (airport to airport). In light of the Easter holiday, we had no choice but to use them again recently and return the car to GNV. This time i see a SECOND charge by Alamo, with no communication on what this is for...This looks like a site specific issue, at GNV only.

Reserved a rental car here through Expedia with over a month's advance notice and when I showed up on the day to pick up my rental, low and behold, the employees at the counter said they did not have a car for me. They repeatedly asked if I changed or modified my reservation (of which I did not) and had no cars in stock. Wound up going across town last minute to Enterprise to save my planned trip, which is where you should go in the first place, instead of these clowns. Trey and the rest of his staff are completely useless and/or incompetent. Have seen this review numerous times at this location, which tells me it's being mismanaged. Avoid at all costs!!

I rented a car to go to Florida. We had some issues with car, the branch manager in Michigan found out about the issue and kept in close contact with me and made sure everything was taken care of. I will definitely be renting from Alamo in the future.

Car was nice price was okay for what I rented. Reason I giving 2 stars is because I left items in the car and since they didn't check the whole car they rented the car with my iPad in there. They texted me they would hold for 30 days but there was no info or number to contact them or what to do. I looked on website all locations where listed except Gainsville airport. Call the 800 number 10 time till someone finally got me the right help! In the end the renter of that car mailed me my iPad and I sent her the money and that was a happy ending for me!But it could have not ended like that and that is why I'm giving 2 stars!!!

Campbell at Alamo was the worst rep that Alamo has. Do not rent from Alamo or Enterprise. He works for both and has no desire to find solutions to problems.

I had a great experience. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The rented vehicle was clean inside. It also had nice features like rear and top cameras view while parking. Thanks Alamo!

Flight was delayed till next morning. I needed to rent a car for less than 10 hours for a 16 mile round trip. Needed car from 6pm to 4 am... they wanted to charge 148 plus fees and taxes for a matchbox car...
