very poor service on site and remote they provided a quote on line told me to bring the car in drive my car without my permission while they were assessing the car the two people doing the assessment looked like high school students at the end i was handed a paper with the same quote i got on line total waste of my time

YES!!!!! If you’ve never dealt with CarMax and are looking for a new vehicle, definitely give them a chance to meet your needs. They offered me an incredibly fair amount for my trade and had exactly what I needed. My purchase vehicle was reviewed bumper to bumper prior to purchase and the detail work returned it to near brand new. You get 30 days to see if you like your new purchase and the buying process couldn’t have been smoother. I’ve traded tons of vehicles over the years and I’ll definitely be checking with CarMax first before my next purchase. If you go to the Gainesville CarMax, ask for J.M.!!! He is a hard working, straight-forward salesman and was a pleasure to work with.

Such a wonderful experience!!!!!!!!!!!!After having and awful experience at a Kia dealership in Ocala. I decided to try something new and shop Online. I found the right car and did a quick online App. My car was immediately put under reserved. I was connected immediately to Mark. He made everything super easy for my same day appt. The greeter was incredibly hospitable. David was my salesman and was very easy going and made me feel comfortable. Adam made sure everything looked correct before we proceeded with the purchase. I was not able to take the car home that day because of an issue with my bank on a weekend but Jess reassured me everything would be ready when I returned monday. True to her word I came 2 days later Adam greeted me at the door and called me by name and Jess was there to make sure my second salesman Patrick would take care of me. Patrick did an amazing job he had me laughing, and everything went smoothly. He took care of everything. It was an.easy transition to the new car. Scott was available the entire time and got the car cleaned and ready to make the ride home. I loved my experience. I dismissed the notion of a certified pre owned car and it was worth the hour drive to be there!

Paid to have a car shipped to the Gainsville FL location and waited while they "got it ready" for me to test drive. When I called I was told that the service department was "really busy" and they'd call me back. They never did. Calling Gainsville a few days later I was told the vehicle was sold to someone else even though I had a reservation. I'm reading of similar occurrences with CarMax on the internet.They are really incompetent and would advise anyone to shop elsewhere.

Decided to sell my car and so glad i came here! For starters carmax quoted me the most to buy my car which is always a plus but as soon as we walked in we were greeted by everyone i immediately noticed how clean everything was too. I came in with two toddlers and was happy to find that they had a “kid zone” with things to do for kids which was nice and kept them busy. It didn’t take very long at all to sell my car and they also didn’t pressure us to buy another one. When I’m ready to buy another car i will 100% come to carmax they are not like any other dealership! Shout out to Nate and everyone else at carmax ??

Online offered me 4k more for my truck ,upon showing up at the selected location I was lowballed by 4k with no explanation other than well you didn't get the offer because you hesitated so it's 4 k less a week later. Do yourself a favor don't waist your time. In this economy these places are really taking advantage of desperate folks like myself. Not on my watch

Honestly, I have heard bad things about CarMax in the past, but I was very happy with my experience. The cars are fairly priced, our representative stayed late to make sure we were taken care of, and it was all pretty seamless. Well done CarMax, happy to see the nay sayers were wrong. Will be back next time I make a car purchase.

The customer service at this location is excellent and I worked with Nate Linn who made the entire process very seamless and transparent. This was the best experience I have had a car dealership in America and I will definitely recommend this dealership and Nate who is very intelligent, smart and honest.

Usually, I work out my issues to get to at least a fair shake out of the deal, but today I have two fingers in two directions saying "whodunit"? In May this year 2023, I purchased a 2014 Nissan. Because it's an older vehicle I was persuaded to add the Maxcare (yes, I'm aiming for two targets in this post). Here it is September 2023 and the transmission goes out while the car is in Florida and hundreds of miles from a Carmax and free repair. 20 miles from a Repairpal partner for $50 repair, and the "free" roadside assists wants to charge $125 because we are not within 15 miles of the shop. No thank you. The car hobbled to Repairpal and we find out that the Maxcare warranty will not cover the actual full cost of the transmission, so I still have to pay over $1000 to get my car back (not the $50). Hindsight there are two fingers pointing out wondering whodunit and several fingers still pointed towards me. I've did some research. CVT issues with the 2014 Nissan Sentra and other models. Carmax will not tell you this, nor will they explain the warranty in detail including MSRP limits on engine parts "covered" in the Maxplan. Good luck if you choose this dealer.
