Great place! Needs more community support, if only more people were aware of its capabilities

I don’t know why but this place seems to foster violent behavior from transients close to it. I have been assaulted multiple times in the vicinity of this place, and I believe they are feeding bums like stray dogs. Please avoid at all costs!

Every town needs one of these but they are unfortunately rare. We are lucky to have this amazing resource and meeting place. Please volunteer to work here and donate some time and energy!

This is showing as an online class for Forging Basic talk and walk for 2 days. I called the Civic Media Center, because I could not access the online. I also gave this information to my FB group.I made several calls to the center the first wasnt favorable, but the second was pleasant and refreshing.

The Civic Media Center is an amazing radical library and community space. They have a large collection of books on subjects ranging from history, economics, labor relations, Philosophy, Political Science, etc. They also have the largest zine collection in the Southeast of the US. The CMC is also an activist space, hosting groups such as Free Grocery Store and Books for Prisoners. The CMC is also known for their punk shows, queer art shows, and other events.

The civic media center is a radical space so some of it is legitimately kind and what it tells people it is... And other aspects of it are rude and neglectful... They contract by group of people so it's related to various groups as to how one may be treated... I like the library it's collected in a really different thread from how I think so I feel it has a world view that answers a lot of questions from an anarchist perspective that's really contemporary... Volunteering can be job task requests and there is no financial compensation offered..so I only recommend doing what does not cause you too much physicality... Nice people good for radio or stuff in general
