Gator Dining food is mediocre at best, and it has gotten shockingly expensive for an on-campus dining hall for students. I definitely do NOT recommend getting the meal plan. You have to eat 3 meals a day here to make it worth it, and I promise you'll get sick of it. Stations are frequently closed, and the parts that actually have decent food usually have a wait. It has standard cafeteria vibes, and is always a bit greasy feeling. The one thing I'd say this place is great for is if you need to pull a study marathon. You can come in the morning and pay one price for a full day of food as you get your work done. Especially when libraries are packed during finals, this is a great option.

They are lying about having a wide variety of vegetarian/vegan foods. DO NOT buy a dining plan.

The food here is disgusting. And some of the employees there are so rude. Save yourself the money and make your own food.

The meal plan is a joke meant to rob you and your family of any money you have. They make you sign a contract for two semesters, and when you try to cancel the second semester they don’t give you a full refund. They take like $200 off even though you never swiped the card once. Don’t be tricked into getting a meal plan because it will haunt you for the rest of your time at UF. plus, when you ask for a refund they don’t even give it to you in check form they make you put it in declining balance until you graduate. But if you don’t live on campus and don’t eat on campus this is a total waste and just another scheme to get you to spend money on campus. It’s all about them profiting off of students debt.

Awesome surprise in the University of Florida Reitz student union. It's only open Monday to Friday at lunchtime, but so much better than the choices in the food court. For $8.99, you Not only get an all you can eat Buffet (That's not humongous, but has vegetarian options) and a view of campus, but there is also waiter service, and the young students waiters are so eager to help you and bring water and coffee. I had vegetarian vegetable and mushroom soup, ratatouille, lemon herb potatoes, salad from the salad bar, and a little dessert. The garden burger jambalaya was a nice idea, but it was pretty gross. Some days they have tofu and the salad bar but on my visit they did not. Menu is posted online on the unions website. This was super pleasant, with great service and good vegetarian choices.
