Alachua County library is fantastic. The friends of the library contribute greatly to the success. Other Florida counties could learn from our success. I appreciate the large selection of music available on CD. I love the recognition of local artists in their stacks. It is a treat to go and unplug from social media to enrich yourself. My son was happy to find graphic novels. I've seen live performances on occasions up stairs. The library itself is a beautiful piece of architecture. That fantastic ceiling is worth a visit. The building is a huge improvement over the former cramped space. It is a very short walk from the route 1 RTS bus. There are elevators for those who struggle with stairs. Large print books are available. The library has books on CD and online audiobooks through a mobile app. There is a very generous limit of materials that you can check out. I have never reached the limit. I only wish we had more branch libraries to keep up with the population increase in Alachua County.

I love this library. The makerspace is fabulous. It’s a super clean, organized, well-equipped space. The monthly calendar is full of classes and open studio time that you can sign up for. Greta and Joe run the space, and are always welcoming, friendly and informative.
Everyone that I’ve come into contact with is lovely and approachable. Thank you.

Very nice and spacious. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Lots of resources. I went to complete a test for a certificate, and used a very quiet private room with free wifi. I didn't pass this time. But I'll be back next week to try again in the clean facility. Thanks!
Parking was a challenge though.

I wanted to give a huge shout-out to Mrs. Paula Thomas! She was beyond helpful and generous, after a few days of calling and trying to get reimbursed for an over charge, from using their printer, she reimbursed me out of her own pocket and didn't have to, she deserves a raise!

I hope this library lives forever, it is a great public space, if you are getting your office renovated, in-between offices etc. it is awesome, clean, quite and access to all. I love it, they should add a little coffeeshop area that's my only recommendation

Bring your mask. First thing I noticed walking in was the mold smell. Didn’t notice this on my last visit several years ago. Noticed only 1 dedicated card catalog station as you enter the adult section up the stairs. Otherwise, it’s a library. Parking can be a challenge but there is metered street parking outside lot.
