Usually an excellent place to eat lunch at, today 5-31-19 they seriously disappointed! It was crazy busy when I arrived, i knew it would take a while to get my sandwich after Liz took my order. After a little while the place emptied out and I was still waiting on my 6/6, I asked Liz where my sandwich was, she said it was being worked on. The Upset took place when 3 seperate groups of people that walked in 20 minutes or longer after I did got served their sandwiches while I was still sitting there waiting on my sandwich. At that point I stood up, paid for my beer, my bag of chips and left. At this point the place was fairly empty. I feel my order was either lost kept getting shuffled to the back of the ticket line. Too many folk that ordered well after I did got served first. Sorry Walter, but being held back does not set well with me.

I called at 12:15. I was told it was a 35 min wait. I came at 12:55. My chef salad still wasn't ready until 1:15. I had to get back to work so I didn't check my food. I got back. My chef salad had grilled chicken, lettuces, and tomatos. That was it. I am furious at the lack of care that I waited as long as I did for a salad. It was a steak and potatoes. It was a salad. Terrible

This place is incredible. It’s half bar, half sandwich shop. It has a dated Hogan’s Hero’s theme...hence the name and the product of choice ;-) . But please don’t write this place off based on the location. Yes it’s junky, however the subs are gigantic (like 2 meals worth) and the front door specials are incredible. I got a beer in a frosted glass, 8” sub, and a side for 4.99$. Bring cash they don’t take anything else.

You can get full with food to take home for around 10 dollars and the quality and portion size far surpass the chain sandwich shops and bakeries for the price. You can't go wrong with Hogan's if you love sandwiches, but make sure to bring cash as they do not take cards and I'm guessing what looks like the worlds oldest working atm, charges a fee. Call ahead for carry out orders or you'll be waiting awhile. Perfection takes time after all.

One of the best sandwich places I've been to in awhile. They bake their own bread and have a great selection as well as daily lunch specials. Can't beat it for the price and overall great atmosphere. The staff is always welcoming and very friendly. The decor is great, they have old newspaper trimmings under the clear resin on the table tops.

Decent sub shop. Cash only payments and don’t let all of the military memorabilia fool you, they don’t offer a discount. Food is pretty good but you’ll definitely be waiting for it.

I am in awe that I just got an 8 inch fully loaded sub with a side and beer for $6.70...it was a special but all of their prices seem to be “special.” The environment is laid back and low key, and the staff is warm and personable. Great place to slip away to after a long day of work. The music is on point, too!

Hands down best subs in Gainesville. They aren’t complicated, though they have a great deli selection. They are just really darn good. I love this place and literally crave it all the time. You guys have a lifetime customer! Thanks for being awesome! If you are a new guest, just know that they are cash only, but they do have an atm.

Lets start with customer service, no greeting, having to repeat my order, and even after repeating they still got it wrong. It was probably because the crew was too busy goffing off. We ordered hot sandwiches and when we finally got them they were warm. The sandwiches were thrown together and sloppy, the macaroni salad was nothing but mayo, no seasoning at all. Like I stated in the beginning I've always had great food and service so I was expecting the same today. So I'm giving 3 stars because of my previous visits being awesome!

I was all sad because there's no Potbelly here in Gainesville. Turns out there's no reason to be sad because there's Hogan's. And good sandwich shop is a necessity. Tonight I was tired from cleaning and unpacking and when Boyfriend asked what I wanted for dinner, I responded, "Food." Because sometimes you just want good, solid food. Nothing fancy. Don't mess up my food with sauces and all sorts of trendy spice. Hogan's has that food. It's simple but fresh and yummy. And if you are so inclined, you can have it put together in creative ways.

Great food. Good price. May take a moment to get your food but it is quality stuff. Staff is friendly.

Quite possibly the best sandwich ever! I had the #8 with ham and turkey, and even though I got the small, it was large enough to take half home. The bread is perfectly crispy on the outside and stuffed with a ton of meat. We get lunch here every time we come home to Gainesville.

DEE-LISH subs, deli sandwiches, and salads. Huge selection of draft and bottled beer. Good prices. Dine in or takeout. Lots of TVs. This place has been around for several decades, for good reason.

So, first time here, but seems like a sure bet for a GREAT sandwich, with a name like that.
I saw corned beef, and they claimed to serve GREAT corned beef, so I ordered the classic, hot corned beef on rye with horseradish.
Well, turned out that Hogan' s doesn't have horseradish, and they were out of the rye bread (but they did say it has caraway seeds, when they have it!). Hmmmm...

Hogan's makes 15-20 different sub sandwiches. They are foot long and normally cut in 1/2 when wrapped. You won't be hungry when you finish -- if you can finish. Delish.

Small local type atmosphere where you can get the best sandwich in North Florida. Hate to tell to many people about this place. But have been frequenting this gem of Gainesville for decades. They have never failed to please my palate. Cash only and very cold beer. If your looking for a quality sandwich Hogan's is your best bet.

I used to love this place. I understand being out of certain food items because of Irma, but even though they have been slow, the staff has gotten even slower. I ordered a tomato crown with chicken salad. They don't have to do anything but put the components together. It wasn't busy at all, and it wasn't until we finished our beers and went to the counter, was it magically ready. I firmly believe it sat around and they forgot about it. Misgivings about going back for food.

This location of Hogan's packs a lot of greatness into a small store. We've been going here for decades (literally), and always end up with a great sub. Meat is fresh and plentiful. Love the Number 8, pressed. And there is a good bar, too.
