Home Depot has been one of the worst contractor companies we have hired. Last year in October we decided to change all the windows in our home, they came on the scheduled date and swapped the windows out and where supposed to setup a city inspection which I have been calling and trying to get FOR 8 MONTHS. Their corporate gave me a number and an extension to call if we had any issues with a supposed inspection they had scheduled with me in Dec and never appeared. I called the extension and number they provided several times and didn't receive any info on why the inspector never came or even if there was going to be a new scheduled date. So yesterday after finally consulting with a lawyer I called their help line and said I was simply going to hand over the case to my lawyer and have him deal with it because I was bored of calling in just to get ignored (After already paying them 14k for the windows). Received a very passive aggressive voicemail finally today after I called in and said I was going to get my lawyer involved and their response was to not call in if I was planing on involving a lawyer. They did give me info on how to setup the inspection myself. But is this really the way to respond to a costumer who has been waiting for a simple inspection for 8 months and a simple message about why the inspection in Dec was not made. But no their response is don't call back if you plan on having your lawyer involved. Worst company ever. Choose someone else.

Worst customer service I've ever had. Purchased over 6k in new appliances only to have to cancel the order. They said the delivery people was on their way and when we noticed it started to get late, we started calling. After several calls and lies, we drive to the store to see what was going on and they said their delivery company is out of Orlando and they couldn't get to us, so they would come back in two weeks! After trying to reason with their nonsense we de used to cancel. Never again! Worst company of the year!!!!

We were advised that the Gainesville store does not deliver to Old Town Fl. There is no option for paid delivery services nor is there an option for in store pick up. There is also no inventory kept at the store . So, due to this incomprehensible business practice, we are excluded from purchasing the washer/dryer combo unit we had decided upon today. This policy/practice excludes all people who live outside of approved delivery areas from purchasing anything not kept in stock-I am unsure how this works in Home Depot's favor. We will not be purchasing the unit we need from Home Depot nor will we consider them for any other large purchases of any kind.

Staff really knew their products as well as basic knowledge and helpful attitudes. Look out Lowe's, you have been put on notice!

Good big box store that seems to have a lot of stuff. I am not really into lots of stuff, however, there are some things that it seems a store like Home Depot might have. I like looking at the various tools and trying to imagine what they might be used for, and then there are the various shelf organizers, closet organizers, and lots of other things. I have been in here before buying some wood kinds of things, and although they were really expensive, it was nice to get stuff that is already sanded and ready to use. The people that we talked to in the store were friendly and helpful. Prices seem to be competitive with other big box stores in the area. All in all, it is a pretty fun place to come, and not a pain at all to get just the things needed for my next project.

This was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Before I moved here, I wanted to get all of my flooring done so my house would be ready. After multiple phone calls, we set it up to where they said that they could get it done a few days before I even came into the city. It has been over a month, and they still have not done anything. They dropped off the materials 3 weeks late, and when the installer came in, they said that there was something wrong with my floor even when they took a look at it a month ago. They are unresponsive and unhelpful on the phone and in the store, and I will never use them again.

This is the worst home improvement store that I have ever visited. The only good thing about this location is how close it is to where I live. However, most of the time I drive across town to go somewhere else because the level of service at this place is absolutely terrible. On one occasion I needed one piece of strand board cut to the size I needed for a project. Before visiting the store I checked their website to make sure they carried this type of board and if they would cut it for me in store. According to their website they do cut this type of strand board. However, when I finally went to purchase the board at the store the workers I found to help me said, "we don't cut this type of wood" because it is unsafe. I told them that their website says that they would cut it for me. They refused.. I went to Lowe's and got the same piece of would happily and safely cut for me. Today I went just to quickly pick up some extra paint rollers and a gallon of paint. The aisle I needed to access was closed with the safety fence and a fork lift machine was parked in the middle of the aisle. I waited several minutes for someone in the paint area to show up, but no one did. Could not find any workers around the area. A woman approached me while I was looking for someone who worked there and asked me if I had a moment to give a brief survey. I told her that I would rather not, I just need to quickly grab some paint on this aisle that's closed. I asked her if I could just walk down the aisle and grab the paint. She said I couldn't do that "for safety reasons." I asked her why there is no one working in this area, and she just stated that I "should find someone wearing an orange apron to help me". I sat down the items I had already selected and intended to buy, and I left the store without buying anything. Every time I visit this location, whether I need help or not, the employees seem to avoid me like the plague, except for the ones who want to give out surveys. No customer acknowledgment, no greetings, and when they see you coming they turn and walk the other direction. Normally I don't even care about these kind of things because I just like to get in and out quickly, but they seem to have no culture of customer service at this location whatsoever! And their policies from the website to the store are inconsistent. It is extremely disappointing! I will probably continue to visit this location just for simple things because of the close proximity to my home, but for large projects I will just continue to go to the competitors across town because they actually seem to like helping me....

This is without a doubt the worst Home Depot that I have ever been to, and I've probably been to 50. The staff is useless and unknowledgeable. Shelves are never stocked correctly and items are out of order. This store is very poorly lit. Overall layout makes no sense, for instance Electric is in two separate areas. Just go to Lowe's!

Ordered a door and tried to cancel the order and they told me I can't because it's in the vendors hands and said I'd have to wait for it to come in and then return it with a 15% restocking fee instead of cancelling the order that was placed 3 days ago and doesn't come in for 3 weeks.

This review is in regards to Home Depot's Carpet Department, Install and their management ...we purchased our carpet for our home during one of Home Depot's free installation promotions the same time Lowes was running the same deal. We waited the 7-10 days for the carpet to be cut. Before our install date we moved all the furniture out of our room, removed all the base boards that we were to replace anyway. We had to take down our closet system which meant clothes were strung over chairs and any spare place we could find. Our room was already a bare concrete floor so we were a quick easy install so ww thought...Until 4pm the day before not even 24 hours before we received a phone call needing to reschedule our install date because they were over booked and now down a man. Not pleased and starting to regret our choice with Home Depot we knew we still had the option to just cancel our order. We went and picked out carpet at Lowes. It wasn't until we spoke to a manager at Home Depot the caused us to change our mind by giving some of our money back. 2 weeks after our first install date we were scheduled for another install date. Two weeks with no closet and a mattress on concrete floor. This time they showed we verified the color and they began to lay down tack strips and padding but couldn't lay the carpet because it was 5" too short. Why the carpet wasn't measured before to double check I don't know but they were going to leave me with exposed nails and padding until they got the new carpet in (7-10 business days). I have small children and pets and the idea of another 2 weeks having to dodge nails in the floor was way worse then the feel of cold floor in the morning. Lucky my husband had the idea to ask that they at least lay the short carpet till the new carpet came in. The installers did lay the carpet and did a good job at it. The 7-10 business days rolled around and we received a call...this person wanted to verify how short the carpet was. More time went by and we received a notification that it was our install date only to be told we were sent that email by mistake. We spoke to Joan a manager at Home Depot and complained, she said let's get the carpet installed and then we can talk about compensation but still no install date. More time went by and We again stopped by and spoke with someone in the flooring department that then spent the time on the phone with corporate trying to figure out why we didn't have the replacement carpet yet. By now it had been a month since the short carpet had been layed. That would be 6 weeks with my house a disaster, my new closet system was waiting on the replacement carpet, my trim. Finally we received a call from the installers. Apparently we had been lost in the system. Our carpet was sitting somewhere and no one thought to think why an order hadn't been moved. The carpet was installed no complaints there. We went back to Home Depot just as Joan had said and talked with another manager. He was suppose to get with Joan and call my husband once they sorted everything out. A week goes by no call, so we stop by Home Depot again and speak to a different female manager. She too was suppose to sort things out with corporate and call my husband it's been another week. All these visited we were there buying material for our shop we are building for our business and our home we are remodeling that a majority of our materials have come from Home Depot. We shop at Home Depot because it's close to our home but tonight when we needed more lumber and trim we drove the extra miles to go to Lowes because while Home Depot did finally get us carpet management has shown that they just don't seem to care about us and I'd rather drive a little further. When we are ready to carpet the other bedrooms in our house we will not use Home Depot.

Major home renovation. Flooring company charged without permission or signature an additional $2000. It turns out they installed our new tile with the wrong mortar. Letter to Mgr and several phone calls to Customer Service no response in 2 weeks. In response to HD comment I have emailed customer care they told I have to deal with the store. Brett Asst Mgr said he was too busy.
