It's wonderful to see a staff buy-in and exude what I imagine is Hyatt's idea of great customer experience. Hope you pay them, or it won't last too long.Vibrant college downtown's parking can be a challenge. There is a multi-story garage within walking distance.Nearby activities: Just look out the window!Walkability: Anywhere you'd care to go.

I really enjoyed staying here. The hotel looks brand new.and spotless. The rooms are large and well laid out. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The breakfast is basic but decent for a free hotel breakfast. And they have oatmilk for the coffee bar, a huge plus for us non-dairy people! It even has a pool in the second level. The only downside is that there is no adjacent parking lot, but there is valet parking. I certainly would stay here again visiting Gainesville.Rooms: New, large, and spotless.Nearby activities: University of Florida!Safety: You need your room card to activate the elevator. And lock the front door at nightWalkability: In the middle of historic GainesvilleFood & drinks: They have a bar and free breakfastNoteworthy details: Luxury at an affordable price

Love this place. It's a great location if you want the full downtown Gainesville experience. I'm a UF alumni and came back to Gainesville with my local friends to have some fun at the local bars and restaurants and other events happening around, this hotel is absolutely the best location for all of this. Everything is within walking distance and you can find free street parking on the weekends just a few blocks away. The rooms themselves are very nice and modern, and pool area was a really cool place to chill and hang out at. The free breakfast is nice as well.We also had AC issues but they were very accommodating for us,. Whenever I'm coming back to Gainesville I won't be staying anywhere else. We loved the vibe of this Hyatt

Very loud strange noise coming from shower, woke everyone up Room size is great. Parking is terrible, $30/day for parking garage one block over. Home2 has much better kitchen area. Breakfast is among the best.

The kindest staff! From valet to the front desk to miss JoJo who cleans the rooms everyone was incredible. This central location was a quick walk to dragonfly or the theater. If you want to be a homebody, check out their great happy hour deals. It was relaxing to sit by the fire after a long day! I wanted to do a special shout out to Amanda who made our stay comfortable and enjoyable! Overall would come back just for the experience from this Hyatt.

We are local but stopped in for drink and appetizers. Big Mistake. No service in the bar. When the front desk staff finally got wine for us it was completely watered down (clear like water). Since there was no one to tell, we drank it. When my husband searched out someone to reorder, he asked politely for a new bottle. After much angst on the part of the receptionist about opening the screwtop, the wine was poured (a completely different color) and we were fine. Until Deryk [stet] came over and said since we drank the wine he would not take it off the bill. And where was he for the previous 20 minutes!!! No apology, no acknowledgement of our concern. We were with others and didn't want to make a fuss. Summary- the worst attitude and customer service ever. We are two professionals and were treated like criminals by staff who had no idea what they were doing. Ruined our night out.

I wouldn’t let anyone I care about stay here. .. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!Loud location, you won’t sleep here on a weekend if you’re unlucky enough to get a room on the bad side of the building. Management is fully aware of this and doesn’t seem to care. Management is far BELOW STANDARD as well as hourly employees. Personally walked into a room and found condoms, walked into another one with BLOOD on the floor in the bathroom… if you really HAVE to be at this location bring slippers because floors are not ever cleaned properly…Built with extremely cheap materials (noise pollution) and has a terrible A/C system that was installed to save money.. it is a hassle to use and has strict temperature limits. Numerous customer complaints and beeps constantly throughout the night.Valet is terribly high in price ($30/night) and insufficiently ran by a THIRD PARTY GROUP. So if you have any issues with that Hyatt will not and is not liable to help you..The breakfast.. I would NOT recommend eating.. liquid packaged eggs, orange juice from bagged concentrate… fruits that were shipped in cut up and in pieces (chemical preservatives).. everything and I mean everything comes frozen… better off skipping breakfast there too.. dishes ARE NEVER CLEAN.. I wouldn’t eat any food from this location. Also a dangerous location WITHOUT armed security (as the company will not pay for this) as there was an ACTUAL shooting (man was caught and arrested, easily can find article on Google) into the building last holiday season…due to a guest with gang ties staying inside the hotel, poorly handled by the General Manager (younger manager although she does look to be in her mid 40s or early 50s but do not be fooled.. she actually tried to actively hide this from guests when they asked about it.. it was like it never happened).. I was there to witness that… shocked! Only guests who saw this outside of their window were made SELF-alert of incident and got points for their stay (upon request) rather than refunded..There are better 5 star hotel options close by that are close to campus.. that will give you a great experience for maybe an extra $10 a night or so.The staff is again trained well BELOW standard too so AGAIN if you are looking for a good stay or a place to hold an event for I would not recommend this unprofessionally managed and untrained staff from top to bottom.I was an employee there and wish I still had those photos (of condoms and blood on the floor, the housekeeping manager is not adequate at her job) as well as could explain my terrible experiences here including sexual harassment which the General Manager was very aware of, Hyatt corporate was aware of this as well and handled it terribly.. I believe her name was Sarah.. only help I ever got was from a man who worked at Hyatt (different location) for 15 years..Also to further about the shooting the General Manager did nothing for the security guard who had a gun pointed at his head… he was really hooked up about it and he wasn’t even given a day off or a free session with someone to talk about being held at gunpoint AND SHOT at through the back employee entrance door… I’ve also had to call the police myself and stop a man from breaking into a woman’s room while she was taking a shower.. General Manager also acted as if that wasnt a big deal about the situation.. it was like she went from motels to this because she was not phased or cared to make changes after each of those instances to protect guest and staff members.I think this location is overall an oversight as Hyatt has expanded its brand rapidly and has purchased other hotel companies.. they sacrificed quality beginning with hiring the general manager and having the “owner” who bought his way into the company have his friends be contracted to construct the building (that scandal with the city of Gainesville is a whole different story in itself). The photos of the rooms I might have on my old phone if I do have them I will update this review with proof and location tagged.
