A lot of noise, couldn’t deliver.
All the work on my car short cut, overlook details, didn’t even put my emblems back on car.
Said 2 weeks took 6 weeks
There was definitely some extra work he didn’t expect but overall quality of job on a classic car was poor!

Terrible. How had my car for almost a year only for me to get back with entire front suspension needing to be replaced. Paint runs throughout the front of the car that was supposed to be painted. He also took my brand new battery out and replaced it with a battery that was not strong enough to run my motor. When I addressed Joe about what he had not done, he stated I should be happy to have the car running. He said, drive it like it is until I can’t anymore. He continued to talk over me like I should be lucky for him to have done the half behind job that he did. I advised him if he wasn’t going to do it right he should not have touched it. He said oh well. Steer far away from this shop. I gave him $5500. I don’t understand why someone would just take money from someone. I would never let him touch another car of mine. Run and run fast from this shop. FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO DO IT!!

Exceptional service from Joe. Fully explained the quote and got the job done in incredible time. I know exactly who to go to again and who to recommend to my friends for any auto body problems in Gainesville. I came in with paint damage because someone scraped me in a parking lot and he fixed it up perfectly (fixed the entire side instead of just the one panel!). Thank you!

Mr. Lawton has helped me with my cars several times over the past years. He is the best at what he does, and has a good heart. I called him 2 days ago needing a repair and he fit me right into his schedule for the week. 2 days later my car looks GREAT!! I would highly recommend him for any bodywork needs. They don't call him Mr Magic for nothing!

Great guy!! Brought my car in to get the front end painted...after looking at it he told me some of my parts were not aligned so he fixed them and painted it. You cant even tell he didnt do the whole car it blended so well!!!! I Highly recommended Mr.Joe!!!Thank you!!!

After being quoted $1200 and told it would take a week, it took almost a month and cost me about $2000 for my car to get painted. After I picked it up, I saw a few spots that were missed, when I called Joe to ask him to touch it up, he told me to wait a month for the paint to cure. A month later, I called him, he threatened me by saying if he saw me or my car back up here, he would put a bullet in me, then asked if I thought he owed me something because he is black and I'm white.. To which I replied," I paid you $2000 , I expect my whole car to be painted. Not even a month later, my car was stolen out of my driveway and never recovered. He had told me his brother has a body shop in Ocala. He had my keys for almost a month, he had made a copy of my licence, so he had my address. And the gainesville police , detective Harris, took well over 2 weeks to actually come out and take a report. Joe Lawton is a racist, he will lie to you, take your money and steal your car, then threaten to shoot you. I had over $12000 in my car, just gone. Beware doing buisness with this so called man. He is rotten to the core!
