I will never go to this store again. I bought a a pair of shoes on line from Journeys. They turned out to be to big. I was told that I could exchange them at the store. I went to the store and they said that they would not exchange them. They were very rude and treated me like I was someone with a plaque. I'm in my sixties. Give me a break. These shoes weren't even mine . I had bought them for a gift for a family member. Now because of the way I was treated, my family has told me they will never go there again. So sorry Journey but you just lost 29 customers. Try working on your sales attitude, in stead of your cell phones.

I never had any act of discrimination in any business as far as I remember but this one was flagrant for me to ignore. I came to the store, I was very well greeted by the employees, among them a Hispanic girl. She came right away with a big friendly smile to help me find the shoes I needed. Then as she was helping me, a Caucasian man came in looking a the shoes near us, then the worker suddenly turned to him to helping him, leaving me standing. The man then decided to leave the store. The worker came back to me, brought me two pairs of shoes, I tried them, liked them and decided to buy them. I wore one pair and asked her to keep my old pair on the box. She then asked if I wanted to buy socks, I declined. Instead of wrapping up the boxes and inviting me to check out, she left me standing and rushed to help the white man who has come back. He picked a pair and they proceeded to check out. Confused and somehow humiliated, I went to tell her that I am not going to buy the shoes because of her irresponsible attitude. As I was leaving, I heard her call me rude. Then I came back to the store and asked to talk to a manager. There was none but a sale manager. I explained the problem. The store employees were two white girls, one white man, and the Hispanic girl who called me rude. I explained to them that was a clear act of discrimination. They said it was a mistake. I suggested that the store educate its employees on diversity to avoid subconscient act of racism that could ruin their business. Obviously, the store needs a black employee. In all honesty, I am not mad at the girl but surprised that an employee would prefer a white customer buying one cheap pair of shoes to a black customer buying two more expensive pairs of shoes. It was unprofessional and not good for business.
